@Corsair Thanks! I admit the Black knight is a personal favorite, I might’ve paid a bit more attention to it than some of the others.
The Mad cat and the Black knight got a coat of wash and some satin clear with some gloss over the canopies. Put some
White glue on the bases to serve as a rim for puddles, then went over them with brown. D98D3E8F-1690-462A-8B06-940F48A2D2A6.thumb.jpeg.b33d7254b4eeb1eccd9bbd1d83a6eae9.jpeg

Now then on to the others!

The Furthest along is the Catapult which is ready for the base work.

next up we have the Warbow which had the original missiles removed and a swarm of missile added in exchange.

And finally the megalodon. I’m playing around with metal discolorations on the jumpjets and the barrel. 763087B1-C392-426C-AB2B-824C5B093DAB.thumb.jpeg.1dd0a08cc2804f48fe2dfc7d6b646539.jpeg1F7B5B67-9BBD-4A5C-803D-D7F6741A2C37.thumb.jpeg.44e04296369f386590b9a42acbcc53ed.jpeg

Reinforcements have arrived! This is my first official iron wind metals miniature the Emperor. The model is the EMP-1a but it will be converted to my custom design with the AC20s.
first step of course is assembling the mech itself.

I could have just 3d printed a new set of guns, or just full blown arms for that matter, but I decided to do it the old fashioned way of glueing on bits and pieces.

Size comparison between it and the 3d printed minis.

And now with some paint!

After suffering a major case of new mini syndrome or what ever you call it. I have successfully gotten the Emperor finished as far as the mini itself, haven’t done the base yet but that is coming.
these are some of the earlier pictures. A bit of Freehand lettering to give a bit of character.

Decided to try someone a bit different with this mini, using some Vallejo wash and a thin brush I went over the panel lines and edges. I think it really improves the look what do you all think?

it’s harder to see on the German Grey,(looks like dark blue to me though). But it shows up well on the lighter blue.

I decided that since they were in stock that I’d grab some of those catalyst Battletech minis. So I officially have more than one Battletech mini now! One thing that I will be doing if replacing the bases with 45 mm ones. Simply because I like how they look in comparison to the mech better.B3238D80-7545-4076-9FEF-846B511CD690.thumb.jpeg.b3cdf774809adeac78b260866ad58694.jpeg

Reading back to this thread at the first of the year, I'm gonna make a suggestion. Get some Woodland Scenics ground foam in dark or medium green, put it in a sealable small container. Paint the top of your bases with a brown acrylic paint, then dip the whole base into the foam, covering the base. Shake it off over the container and let dry. It's simple but will finish off your mechs' very good looking paint jobs. On the Twolf and Black Knight, just put paint up to the edge of your glue and it will look like a mud puddle!

Great minds think alike! I do something very similar to what you just described! Here is how they came out.

and being the easily distracted person I am, the current focus of my recent efforts.

I suspect the battle armor will go quickly.

Oh, I am liking that Highlander!

if I had trusted myself to take a knife to it, it would’ve been so cool to have reposed the it into doing a Highlander burial on one of my messed up 3d prints. Maybe I can find another highlander and do a diorama sometime with it performing a highlander burial.

Very excited! Got all the painting done on the King Crab, and the highlander and Black knight are ready for a wash now.
After the puddle rim dries I’ll add sand and talus to the base then give it a coat of brown before doing the mud effects.

Since these three are nearly done I’ve allowed myself to start piddling with this Warhammer, and starting to look at finishing this Kintaro up too. It’s pretty close to being done already.74E00A9E-C8A6-4EBE-BBA4-E0426B40EA23.thumb.jpeg.2ef5ed7b554f583c3e4484ffa9f84fa7.jpeg
