Olaf's Adventures In 3D Print Land

That's a beautiful bridge.

I’m happy with how it looks so far. Should be fun and easy to paint up too.

It gives me an excuse to use some of my Woodland Scenics basing materials to hide some of the areas where the fit isn’t as good as I’d like. The basing materials are also on my “use it or lose it” list, so I’d be getting another item off my list.

Cheers. I’m considering 3D printing some “tops” to put on the squares. Just need to have a look and see what I have.

How about braziers?

You might need to fiddle with scale, but you can also have fun with OSL painting.

There's also at least one free set -

Both, braziers at the ends, statues everywhere else.

Maybe the tall braziers for the lower suppprts?

I’m thinking the smaller or middle sized braziers, to not take too much attention away.

I’ll likely just print them all and see what looks best.

Printer is running again for the first time since early January Rise. Printing a few Blood Bowl minis for me and some friend, along with some braziers to sit on my Hirst Arts Bridge.

I made sure to take the resin out, strain it, clean the tank and give the resin a good shake up before putting it back in.

I learned from previous experience that the Tenacious resin is slightly heavier than the other resin and separates to the bottom if you leave the resin sitting unused for longer than a week and the print will fail if you don’t mix it up again.

I think the pigments in the Fast Navy Grey also start to separate out.

After that I’m going to swap out my wash station isopropyl for completely fresh stuff and try printing some clear resin prints. Take advantage of the fresh isopropyl to get the clearest prints possible.

And a partial fail on the first build plate. The likely cause is not shaking up the resin enough or not cleaning the FEP well enough as the fails were on the first couple of layers and the rest printed fully with no issue.

Printing a second build plate now, so hopefully that prints fine.

Now my problem is I have half an empty build plate (as half my prints failed on the first build plate) and can’t decide what to put on it. Damn analysis paralysis.

It’s so stupid. I have literally thousands of STLs and no obvious ideas. Just wandering through my files on my PC trying to get some inspiration.
