Moderator Chaoswolf Posted January 8, 2022 Moderator Share Posted January 8, 2022 It never dawned on me that Bambi was a deer, it was just Bambi. Also had a brain fart and failed to recognize Windsor castle. I did the opposite here; instead of being Windsor castle, it was just a castle. Still fun, though.
Cranky Dog
I grant myself 4.5 points. I overestimated and misremembered how many moons. Never heard of the news article. Knew it! Knew it! Knew it! (maybe not the full name) I remembered the gist of the song, but not the name. So half point. Knew it! But not the bonus. 8 hours ago, ManvsMini said: Which part threw you off? Say What You See is one of my favorites, it's almost like Pictionary. In my case, I don't really know who Ed Harris is or what he looks like. Nor do I know what Windsor castle looks like. ManvsMini
Question 9: Category: International Organizations Founded in 1946 with the acronym WWSU, the World <this sport> Union later became the IWSF (International <this sport> Federation) in 1989, and in 2009 changed again to the IWWF, incorporating a related sport. My question is, what was the original sport the WWSU governed? EDIT: Post time on questions is going to start getting a bit erratic while I hammer out my schedule, but there will still be a question each day. paintybeard
Flubbed the first one but got the rest. (Unfair local advantage on question 2. I know Winsor Castle and reverse-engineered from there.) Very much enjoying this, ManvsMini. You may have a job for life Pointless trivia: Due to British inability to listen in American the Whitney Houston song is often called "Do you know about Bee Stings". Glad to hear there is enjoyment being had by people. As long as that continues, I'll keep doing it. 6 hours ago, paintybeard said: Unfair local advantage on question 2. 23 hours ago, Cranky Dog said: Never heard of the news article. Yeah, there will undoubtedly be unfair advantages for some questions due to locale, no way around it. But it should even out over the year (I hope). Bit surprised though @Cranky Dog, I thought that might have been a decent headline in Canada. It wasn't a major one here, but I saw enough blurbs about it through several news sites I read. And if you don't know Ed Harris, I suggest watching The Abyss or Apollo 13 or The Rock. Some of my favorites. No one get discouraged over scores. Remember, it's all for fun, and there's over 365 points (one a day/question plus any bonus points).

And though I know of those movies, I never watched any of them (I'm not that much of a cinephile).

Jasper_the_2nd
Yeesh, only had 1 from the first round, and only because I had the UPPP surgery for sleep apnea back when they still regularly performed that torture surgery, so no longer have a uvula. This round seems to be hitting random knowledge I know a little more often. (to be expected, like Jeopardy, some days I know lots, other days the categories are US history and Renaissance poetry......)
ManvsMini
Sorry, answers for the round will have to wait until Sunday evening... long work hours, won't have time to write them up until then... so this round will have more questions than last one...
