The eye. It's a little pit in the retina, part of the macula. It's function is to help with sharp central vision, i.e. the direction you are looking towards.

Question 272: What flower was Monet most famous for painting?

Answer:

Water lilies. Monet had a series of paintings devoted to them (about 250 paintings). Your answer must be "water lilies" for credit, not "lilies." Despite the name, water lilies are not true lilies, belonging to a different genus (and an entirely different taxonomic order)

Question 275: Apart from both being museums, what do the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Louvre have in common?

Answer:

Spoiler

They both have a design by the same architect. I. M. Pei provided the design for the entrances to both museums (he designed the entire RnRHoF), the glass pyramid for the Louvre, and the RnRHoF which also features similar glass designs.

That concludes the week's round. The usual scoring, one point per question for a potential 7 total points.

Total possible for the year is now 282 points.

Only 2, ouch! Total 148.

It's been over a decade since I read The Hobbit. My memory was tainted by the Peter Jackson trilogy; so I was stuck thinking it was "An unexpected journey."
