VAMPIRE COAST ARMY and other PIRATES.

I have this nautical thread here where I focus on creatures from the Deep, both fictional and real.

Since I don't want to clutter that thread with too many pirates or a whole new army I will make a separate thread for those here.

Recently I've been playing Total Warhammer II again, especially with the Awakened a Vampire Coast Army.

While playing this I started to think, could I create such an army with minis?

Well, since I have acquired a lot of 3D files lately, yes I can.

Especially with a little creative freedom since I only paint and build for fun and don't actually play the tabletop game.

So instead of just zombie pirates, there will also be skeleton pirates and mutated ones with shark/crab/tentacle features.

 

There will be other pirates and such also in this thread.

For starters I will focus on the Vampire Coast Army as seen in Total Warhammer II and in earlier White Dwarf Magazines.

 

I paint slowly, I have loads of projects so it will take a while.

Bear with me please.

 

Some files I have that will be suitable for a Rotting Leviathan, A Necrofex Colossus and Undead Pirate Mob etc.

These are some radical piratical minis! I'm excited to see more.

Acquired a lot of pirate stuff.

Some of them will be used in my Lost World Project, mainly the human "normal" pirates.

The Vampire Coast Army/Dreaffleet will be Undead, Mutants and Non-Human races mainly.

I'm eager to start painting/printing it but first I need to empty my desk a bit.

Working on it and things will happen soon.

 

Until then some reference pics for the project and some ideas of what will come.

 

Acquired these, especially the half orcs can make nice Vampires with the right paintjob and of course those monkeys and crocs are awesome artilley units.

And that Half Orc Dandy makes a wonderful Vampire Lord I'm sure, maybe I'll include Puss in Boots Pirate as well...

Scale Comparison with the Cursed Sailor...The Carb Pirate is big.

I had to rescale a base to 100mm Rectangular so it will fit.

I'm a slow painter with many projects, so you'll have to be patient..

Love the periwigged sailor and the pirate lass, and you KNOW I'm excited about mutant squid/crab pirates!!

The hat is my favorite detail on the Crab Pirate. Sure, he's an unrecognizable monstrosity from the briny deep, but he has his dignity!
