February 23rd Question of the Day:

What was/is your best discovery in your hobbies. This can be any hobby, just not mini-painting.

I'm going to let childhood me answer this.

That model rocket engines do indeed work in rockets made out of toilet paper tubes and construction paper.  And oh yes, they do blow up in a nice fireball too.

We all got in trouble a few hours later for "misusing" our model rockets.  Spoilsport parents... We at least did it in an open field that had drenched grass!

Two actually. First, that super glue can indeed close a wound you've just given yourself with an Xacto knife. And second, you can make a fairly decent cream ale just using corn flakes breakfast cereal.

Mistakes are part of the process and not an aberration of it, and even (especially) the most talented artists make mistakes all the time and go back to correct them, it's no big deal.

Also, I found that contrast paints I might not be getting the most technical skills while painting, but the results are excellent and that's what matters.

Flexible Magnetic Vehicle Signs

They make the best homemade movement trays and figure stands. Far superior to all other products anyone offers.

They also work extremely well for forests and ruins—they mark out the area—but allow decorative trees or stands of ruinous walls to be flexibly placed in endless variations.

February 24th Question of the Day:

What 3 Famous People, Living Or Dead, Would You Want At Your Fantasy Dinner Party?

Well, I'd prefer they were all living at the time of the dinner party... decomposition might kill the "let's eat" vibe...

So, assuming I have a time-traveling phone booth like Bill and Ted:

  1. Helen of Troy/Sparta - I want to see what all the fuss was about with the Greeks and Trojans (assumption is that she actually lived and isn't myth).
  2. Otto von Bismarck - Prussian/German political mastermind that kept Europe relatively peaceful for about two decades before the turn of the 20th century... might have some good pointers?
  3. Harry Houdini - every party needs some entertainment

Oh and ManvsMini: You'd better lay in a good supply of food, Prince Otto is reputed to have had a gargantuan appetite.
