27-28 March: Reaper Ron talked about a 3 stage mini, (you can see a photo in the Bones 6 Enthusiasm thread) like an adventurer at the beginning, middle and end of his career. Is there an existing Reaper mini that you think would be an amazing 3 stager? Or design your own. [My weekend is Sun-Mon ;-)}

I think this one would look great as a 3 Stage:

I've chosen Human Barbarian, Nadia. Yes, she's in bikini mail... because then they could show her gaining some decent armor throughout her career.

As a slight aside, I do believe Fenryll offers such a concept in their range of adventurers, though there might be around a dozen trios, so it doesn't cover many race/class combinations.

Mangu Timur

This could be him at the pinnacle of his power or the mid-stage of his career—either one.

But a Mangu the Timid in his patchier and mostly leather armor might be fun. With a lesser sword.

Maybe the high-end version of him could be mounted on a fearsome lookin’  heraldic beastie, wingless Griffin, or a Lion-headed-horse, maybe an Enfield. High end version could have a big wicked battleaxe in hand, and the original sword in a scabbard as a backup.

Some of the Werner Klocke sculpts would work well as end points I think, have them start off relatively plain and get more elaborate and buckle/strap covered as they go.

Not quite the same thing, but I loved how Guild Ball used to do something similar to represent certain characters journeys through the story line. My favourite was Spigot, you start with him as a raging drunk, brandishing a broken bottle. Then he gets off the sauce and you get a mini of him standing triumphantly on an overturned crate of beer, and then finally you get a mini of him in his church team uniform after the brewers guild kicked him out.

It's a shame they killed the game before they could do it for more characters.

The only plan I have in this regard is not to buy any.

I'm really looking forward to what they come up with for this. at some point in the dimly remembered past I had some Ral Partha 3 stage minis and they were awfully cool. I'd be happy with any squire to knight miniatures ending with a guy in full plate on a warhorse. I'd also love to see some modern/sci-fi takes on this though. Like a 1st stage character with a pistol and not much else, 2nd stage with some modern armor and an assault rifle and a 3rd stage with obvious cyber modifications and some sci-fi type of weapon.

15 March: Is there a particular colour paint other than a primer you seem to use more than any other?

Been a bit....work has been....busy

Currently, Feldgrau and Dunkelgelb, er Field Grey and Dark Yellow.  But then I'm painting a German army.  In general, Strong Tone  and Dark Tone washes, Linen White, some of the leather browns.

Rifts.  Of course that would also mean that Palladium/Siembieda no long owned/controlled Rifts, which I'd also be fine with......

Put things in the same place every time. Saves so much time.....

I'm another Happy Little Treemen pick.

22 March: There has been lots of chatter over in the Bones 6 Enthusiasm and Commentary thread. Recently revealed--lots of zombies in the core set. Some people are less than enthused to have yet more zombies, which leads us to today's question: Is there a creature that you can't seem to have enough miniatures of?

Hmmm, creature, so I can't say "tanks".....
Aliens.
If Fantasy then Bugbears.  They all seem to be sculpted the same way....

23 March: Do you have a "Shelf of Shame"? Which mini has been languishing on it the longest?

I have a Storage Room of Maybe Eventually.   And Closet of Fairly Soon, with some back shelves of "I Don't Play that Anymore/Yet".  A couple of shelves of "I got distracted but should get back to that".....also a number of plastic bins that fit that category.
And then a shelf of "assembled/primed/basecoated" so will be painted "soon".
Plus whatever is on my desk, in various states.
But no, no shame.

24 March: Everyone has one. Go find your deck of playing cards and tell us what's on them.

I have a CAV deck somewhere near by but couldn't spot it.  But in one pike I found a couple of decks of many things, a few decks of Pairs, 4 decks of playing cards from the Name of the Wind KS with

I have the green limited edition too but they aren't opened.

Also a Star Wars deck of cards with Vader on the back.

Yes.

I often plan, but sometimes just see something cool....

Ah! The good ol' "This isn't even my final form!"

At the same time, the clubtail kind looks like an earlier form.

As is the dragon tortoise.

Some of both; generally the former for physical purchases and the latter for Patreon.

While conceptually interesting, I'm not sure that it is something I would use in practice for adventurers.  Minis are rarely an exact match to concept, and the next stage might not go in the right direction.  Monsters have a more specific progression and different stages are in general more useful.

29 March:  Do you use resuable shopping bags? Have a favorite?

Yes, all sorts from paper and plastic to the sturdier non-woven kind with handles.  My favorites are the smaller sturdy plastic coated ones with webbed handles.  I have a few from local shops that are just about the size of a 6-pack of cola, very handy for taking anything from lunch to craft projects.

Only because they're forcing them on everyone here...  So naturally you'd think they'd keep the price of them attractive and inexpensive?  Nope, said cloth bags they're forcing on everyone are three times the cost of what they used to be, and aren't any sturdier...

I reuse my plastic bags from when I shop at retailers that aren't forcing cloth bags just yet, as they're rather handy as a second life being garbage bags...

Paper bags are nice and all, but not really that great to carry for the 20-30 minute trip home...
