Just a few minutes later, and Hakir is blowing Denizens out of the water. Roughly double the votes of Denizens of the Dungeon.

Bummer for me. I'd 100% rather have a mix of monsters. Hopefully Hakir gets more people in.

I'm still at $50 for the BWV. Probably will add Chonky and Owlbears in last 48hrs. The tavern is nice but in all honesty, if I really want a tavern, there are options out there. Plus other KS coming up that I want to toss money into.

Good figures in Bones VI, but not as much that I'm up for waiting 2 years on.

The prince backer-number unlock is thoroughly unnecessary for me. Cool bonus but changes my mind precisely zero for how much I'll pledge. Meatheads are a dime a dozen in the minis world, even if this is a good one.

i just need cool monsters. unique stuff. stuff that doesnt exist out there already. Bones 5 catoblepas was so cool. i dont think there's ever been a mini of one. Then the slaad (although now there are some cooler looking 3d patreon versions), etc.

at least for some of us, thats whats missing

I decided to get it because I do want to build a town/small city to take up most of the basement I hope to have one day, and I'll need a different layout/appearance. Might as well have it on hand in two years. I seem to keep buying bartender minis, they need someplace to work...

He put the same question into the Kickstarter Comments, and Denizens is getting a LOT more votes than Hakir.

I found one prior catoblepas mini (http://www.miniatures-workshop.com/lostminiswiki/index.php?title=Image:Rp-11-422a.jpg).  I suspect Reaper's might have been the second one ever, though.

There's nothing to get people to spend more.  Either people have put in their extra $50 for an expansion when it was first revealed, or waited until it was unlocked.  The only other way to get people to increase a pledge is more add-ons, but the 5-tier expansions slowed down the rate of add-on reveals.  We only have 1 encounter revealed, and I think those performed really well last time.  It's just such a crawl to get to the places where people increase their pledges.

I feel like a few "free" add-on options would do wonders for giving people a reason to increase pledges.

Though from daily stats on the KS and facebook, it seems that the major issue is a lack of backers, not low pledges.  I know I'll likely be able to add a bit more near the end, but I'll end up doubling or tripling that post-KS in the PM.  I'm sure others are in a similar boat.  Hitting their current caps.  Don't know how much can be done to draw attention towards the KS for those who aren't already involved.

Seems like it could use a bit of a marketing push in addition to more options to encourage raising pledges.

I like scorpions but I'm not sold yet. I probably don't have much budget and the revealed expansions are not quite enough for me. I was also hoping for more encounters/legendary tales. I got most of them last time and painted them quickly. I haven't touched my expansions or add-ons yet. If things continue to go slow I'll probably sit this one out because I won't expect to see those encounters.

I think these 3 statements pretty much sum the entire KS for me so far. ha ha. Especially the one I bolded.

There have been previous physical minis (one that comes to mind is the old RP AD&D one, which of course is undersized now & is expensive in the secondary market). 3d files there is a bunch. Now catoblepas in the style like @TaleSpinner's no. It's funny Andy told me the reason why it looks like that is to fit the base size. ha ha. Coming from Andy & his iron cobra sculpt, I can see why he wanted it to fit! ^_^

I know for a fact the factors that have made this KS (for me), not as enjoyable as previous one are, I have 3d printers, allot of the figures are just "Bone-sified" versions of existing figures that I have & I have no idea what I'll be playing in 2 years time. Good figures who need them or really like them thou. I'll still keep my initial 125 pledge, what I'll go to, I have no idea at this point.

It's probably not feasible to do this, but I'd like to see some actual data on the prevalence of miniature printing. And not just among forum users (who are kinda super-users in this miniature hobby).

A lot of the opinions on this seem highly anecdotal. I know that I won't be able to have a resin printer for years to come because we live in an apartment (as is common in Germany, at least in my age range but housing market isn't great right now) and I don't want to use it in a room we and the cats hang out in.

We own a FDM printer and I use this a lot for terrain, but this has been a journey and more of a second hobby opposed to just buying a file and printing it overnight. And the few miniatures I've tried just weren't ... great.

I find it hard to imagine a newer or less involved person getting into this and buying a 3D printer for a couple of hundred bucks and then figuring all of that out instead of buying plastic figures. And even with more experienced hobbyists it might not always be worth the obstacles.

So stuff existing as files isn't really an option for everyone (and getting them printed and shipped by a 3rd party gets expensive fast). Personally I do think we'll have a market for affordable plastic miniatures for years to come, but companys other than Reaper have been getting in on it.

Even with my resin & fdm printers I still look forward to buy traditional company miniatures. Sometimes you just don't wanna print out something or the existing figure is what your wanting. I know 3d printed mini sellers are all over places like ebay. They seem to pop up more then actual miniatures on there sometimes. Thou, I will admit I do see who the actual company that made the file is & I'll seek out that company vs buying it from a seller. I don't buy printed stuff unless is something I know is not worth the hassle of printing myself. I did this earlier this year when I ordered some 1/24 scale tire valve stems that were 3d resin printed.
