It'll look different, but it fits the overall theme. (Oddly it reminds me of a few, old GW minis I have that are on hex bases. One is a hobgoblin (in samurai armor, which has stuck with me all these years), Saurun & a Ringwraith. 6 hours ago, Guindyloo said: Here's the secondary view of my beloved giant slug that was shown for a moment: You are quickly becoming a monster master. This is the best use of a hex base. See my response above. Perfect match up. Do they make larger hex bases? Grumpy Gnome
I am surprised how much I like the bee-folk. I have no project in mind for them but it is a great example of freshly innovative models coming from a Kickstarter.
DragonWyrm
Hollow Knight. That's what the bee folk remind me off. Sure they are different in design. But for some reason they remind me of Hollow Knight. The bumblebee was the thing that pushed it over the edge. Now I want to make some small war band of them. Doubt it will be possible before they reach retail.
Adrift
The series of adventures in Tales of the Old Margreve by Kobold Press has a bee-based adventure within its pages.

I actually do really like hex bases, it's kinda sad that the mostly got skipped over by most minis companies. 3
Pezler the Polychromatic
Now everyone has to paint the Honeythorn Lancer while listening to Flight of the Bumblebee. 2 9

Same, but I’d be remiss to see wotc add facing rules to the combat system for dnd. I already suffer from serious edition confusion on the rules at times.

bearsman6
Two new nice previews. I'm super psyched by the bugbears. Probably going in on that. And I'll love getting the salamanders in the Core, which I'm already definitely getting! 13
Magnus Brickson
Oh those Bugbears are nice. The sculps look like a nice middle-ground between player character options and savage monsters. The Fire Newts are solid addition to the Core set, as well
bearsman6
I do wish someone would sculpt real PC options for bugbears. Like, the most common PC weapons are daggers, 1h swords, 2h swords, and 2h axes. Why is it so hard to find bugbear minis wielding those?? Let players be monstrous too!
Adrift
I’d of much preferred the bugbears being added to the core set and the fire newts being an add-on. I have 8 painted bugbears and the Bones USA one in reserve and just don’t need more of those. The newts are something I don’t have, but is in the minority of things I don’t have among the core set. 4
Zkzi
Agreed, liking those newts. Would be an instant buy separately for their newness.
