I’m so happy about Briarwood! There’s honestly very little so far that I don’t like (chibis are a nope), but the Fey stuff is a strong favorite. The little fairie dragons, the redcaps, shinmerscale, all so cool. Can’t wait to see the alicorn model.

I'm really hoping that this is something Mesoamerican, though that may be wishful thinking.

I’m guessing a falcon warrior from the Hakir set.

About time new paint colors showed up! Why in the world did they introduce the pack of pre-existing colors first?! These have caught my attention.

Unfortunately, yesterday my lizard had a Mega Mopey Something's Wrong day, so I got him the next vet appointment I could. $600 later.... my lizard is diagnosed as Fat and needs a tank refurnishing. So between Lizard Care and other Kickstarters of interest, I think I'm waiting on a lot until Pledge manager this time. But of interest for me? Briarwood, Owlbears, Chonky, Anniversary Dragon, New Paint. *Maybe* Tavern. Bee-riding-bee if it becomes available outside Core.

Mmmm. New paint.

Yummy.  Pretty nice collection of colors. I like the new ones better than the older set, but together they make a nice collection of varied colors.  Probably get both just because of the cost savings.

Still have not seen this guy make an appearance:

It is probably because we have only seen one encounter set so far.  I get the idea of not revealing too much too quickly, but it sure seems like there should be at least a second one available by now, since they seem to have five or six to offer.

This guy could also easily be a later or final part of the Denizens expansion. He looks like something awesome at the bottom of a dungeon.

I'll be in for both paint sets. They're hard to get in the EU (mostly out of stock/expensive/long wait times as the reseller orders them for you). I have some of the skin triads from that short, beautiful moment in time in between the UK Reaper store opening and Brexit. And ofc paintsets from previous kickstarters.
Reaper paints are really quite nice to use, even though my color selection is a bit weird. I like both color sets in this kickstarter. Painter's Pick might not be flashy, but I use a lot of browns, greys, off-whites and less saturated greens and blues. E. g. from Bones IV I've used way more of the "Rotting Wood" triad than of the bright pink "Runic Glow" or of the purples in Bones V. I may like the bright colors more, but I paint more wood/stone/leather and green cloaks (why, oh why, do all the players want green or blue for their PC minis? Even my bard which I tried to stir towards red or purple just really wanted dark greens 😐)

I'm hopeful we'll see some content of Anne showing off her color selection and learning about using them in maybe unexpected ways. I found her explanation on painting skin really enlightening.

The new colors also look promising. I like the red triad going more into pink/burgundy than orange, more browns, a really dark grey which I'm somehow don't have a lot of and the dark purple for shading  all look useful to me. And ofc two more greens and a light blue, sure I'll use those as well.

Hmm I am not sure what to think about Arilyn.

The concept art:

The Metal Sculpt:

The kickstarter plastic:

The new model poses looks more natural than the old metal pose (but that may have to do with the direction the head is looking and the more appropriate arms). In the end I feel that the new model looses some of what made the original special. The new poses is a generic sorceress throwing a spell at the person over there. The concept had more of: manipulating the water down bellow. The metal had more of: Just a pinch of powdered newt and my brew will be done.

Amusingly the hand goes higher and straighter from concept -> old metal -> new plastic. Ending with it fully extended.

In the end I like it, but feel a little sad it became generic.

Warner Klocke is the original sculptor, so more than anything this is prob what gave the original it's character.

We've only a week left in the campaign, but we're just over a million. I feel like this campaign just isn't exciting me like prior Bones kickstarters, and everything seems to be moving slower. I may be remembering wrong, but I'm feeling like this is lacking something. Maybe it's just because I have so many miniatures now? I dunno.
