Bones 6 Enthusiasm and Commentary

Yeah... I dont really consider the Owlbears an encounter pack when comparing to the encounters in Bones 5. I mean... I guess a single Owlbear could be an encounter for a low level party... but yeah, not really the same category as what we had in 5. 

 

I could be biased on this too, as I have actually run this encounter... but at a higher level.

There is a LOT of value in the Core sets, if it's what you want.  I passed on #2, 3, and 5.  Only got 4 because of the number of NEW and never before seen sculpts that came in it.  Now, I did end up with Core5 because I won a drawing, but some got given away and the rest is unpainted. 

 

I see more people regretting not getting the expansions than the Core.  If you want any of the large figures, or more than half of the small ones, get it and worry about extras later.  I do remember during 5 that a lot of the encounter sets came at the very end, after I had already spent money on other KS projects, and I dropped all the dragons except the Crystal dragon.  

 

I trust that Reaper will unlock what they have shown us so far.  If they don't want to put up any more encounter sets of Chronoscope, there are other companies willing to take my money.

I dreamt last night that they released another variant of the ant queen for people that don't buy the core. She was on a three inch base and was a cross between the ant queen and the queen from Aliens, with a horrible, slimy ovipositor wrapped around in front of her, halfway through laying an egg. I was very disappointed when I woke up.

If they had such a queen, AND offered the core set "queen" for individual sale as "warriors" that would be just about perfect.

Kinda feels like we’ve capped out what we’re going to get again…he said hoping for a repeat of last time and his words triggering another piece of giant slug worthy nostalgia bait to be added.

Oh, there's still plenty of cool stuff to come, you'll see. I'm pretty confident in things getting crazy once the 48 reminders go out.

A third of me is being a pessimist, and feeling that the last 48 hours won't be any more exciting than the first 48 were. 
A third of me is being a realist, and figures the final 48 will be modest, more like Bones 2.

The final third of me keeps looking at how how front loaded B2 thru B5 were, and thinking this could be the most exciting final 48 since B1.

The one major thing i am missing in this is teh encounters. I thought they were the best part of Bones 5... but we have not had a single encounter and with 4 days, 5? left, it doesnt look like we will get a single one this time. 

 

There is still more than enough in this Kickstarter for me to keep my pledge... but I will admit, i thought about dropping out and backing Anastyr instead. 

They're NOT breaking apart the Core set for the PM? They have in all the others. That sucks. I absolutely don't care about large chunks of this Core, and I've gotten every other Bones Core because it's been more cost efficient to get one than to get piecemeal the parts I wanted.

I hope they do end up breaking up the core, I'm getting it, but I'd like an extra band of gnomes, an extra nightmare and extra familiars at least.

Looking forward to the last 48hrs, and very curious about the rest of Hakir and Denizens.

FWIW, like 95% of the Kickstarters I back I don't until the 48-hour reminder. There's probably a ton of people who do the same and don't make the exception for Bones like I do. 😂
