I know I personally have sculpts done and sent that haven't even been hinted at (though I guess I just did, lol). 😉

Andy, everyone knows you’re just trying to get bribes offered for ReaperCon. You should just go ahead and tell us since we see right through your ploy.

Sample photos posted directly here would be an appreciated touch.

I have a lengthy email chain going with Ron, and he agrees that you should upload some sample photos to help tease up some more excitement for the campaign.

We swears on, on…the precious!

Prediction: once flumphs are revealed, the pledge level will skyrocket to break a new record.

I have always been confused (and in previous Bones KS) as to what this bizzarre fascination with a children's tv character is all about....

So finally got around to looking it up, and find that the TV characters are Flumps....not Flumphs!   mea culpa.  Turns out they are interesting flying jelly fish things?

I mentioned during yesterday's twitch stream that I'd like to see Reaper do smaller, more focused Kickstarters going forward, and Ed replied back that's the direction they want to go as well.  Sadly, he did not confirm (nor deny) that could mean a Chronoscope KS.

Here's a thought - from the KS comments thread:

Is it possible the flavor text for the various reveals is turning some people off to various sculpts/options?

Sort of like how we know some people won't buy a mini labeled sorcerer to use as a bard or cleric.

Are some people doing things like looking at the Fire Newts, and thinking "Well, I don't have the Caverns of Doom in my campaign so I can't use those"

'it may be.

Some others may be like me. i tend to go with what looks cool and impressive to paint. when I DM, i generally use more larger monsters, (my group is much higher level) and i use a lot more rare planar type monsters, so i dont need orcs and giants. I need, as ive said, titans, gods avatars, demonlords, devils, angels, etc.

When we start a new campaign, i hvae some basic orcs, gnolls already and we use them in such large quantities, we just put a few on the board and token/counters for the rest. i have no interest in painting 20 orcs.  but painting 1 astral dreadnought or 1 titan or a cool dragon is worth it.

Also, if i think its really cool looking, monster X, whatever X may be in this example, i may use for a contest, so that also goes into what do i think i can do that is something very impressive and interesting with it.

That may be the case but it also means they will have to be prepared to take the hit on this Kickstarter, and what it could mean for all the follow ons.

After all if they have a substantially smaller turnout this time it could weaken future KS's as well.

Reputation matters.  Reaper has garnered a reputation for Large Unique sets and individual figures.  If they begin a regression they may keep shrinking afterword.  It is often just how things work in any industry.

Well the core set is already on 97 minis, with most likely 10 more to be added before reaching 1.5 mil. It is 25% smaller than previous 2 campaigns. But we are lik half the number of backers. And no idea how much of that is less interesting offering and how much reflection of the state of the world and our niche hobby.

Wow I missed yesterday but I feel 100% same way... thx for Asking!

Except....the add ons...are completely basic minis we don't need more of. There is nothing 'new' for the add ons

...

I miss interesting things like the siege equipment or other fascinating new minis they had like in the last one

Yes, I'd like to see something new and interesting.  The Dawnseekers held promise for a moment with one new sculpt.  As it stands there's about 4 figures in Core that I'm interested in and only the owlbear add-on.

I would love to see them.

Unfortunately, Antimatter Games just teased a huge new project with physical and stl rewards and I think I know which of the two is getting more of my money this time.

That sounds like a very good idea,  I hope that they do end up doing that.

Having a basic idea of what to expect from any new Kickstarters right from the beginning might help to alleviate a lot of unhappiness and manage expectations.

Asking as a first-timer, realistly, based on the previous 5 Kickstarters, how many new backers do you think we'll get when the reminder emails go out?  I personally don't think we'll hit 10k backers for the second barbarian figure, and $1.6mil is my guess for final amount.

There is no predicting what will happen. Last KS we were in a huge economic boom and people had greater discretionary income. This time 3 years later, many folks do not have that extra income. Plus with the additional costs of petroleum products, the materials and transportation costs are higher. All these things are being reflected in the lower enthusiasm and spending allowances.

And folks, please keep any political observations out.

That all makes a lot of sense

I do pharmacy inventory, I unfortunately fully understand what a [redacted] nightmare shipping and supply issues are right now, and how expensive and lengthy every step of getting any product from point A to point B has gotten.

When I asked Ed about it, I specifically mentioned Chronoscope, but I think there are a lot of ideas for more focused KS projects Reaper could do.

Dragon Riders - riders for both existing dragons and a couple of new ones.  Start off with dragon riding versions of 4-5 of their top selling PC models for 4-5 of their top selling dragons. The KS comments for it could be quite fun as everyone begs for their favorite dragon and PC sculpts to be the next stretch goals.

Warlord - enough said

Chronoscope - bears repeating

Terrain - since terrain in regular Bones is one of those that causes bickering, why not do one for just the terrain people.

Legendary Tales - one that is nothing but encounter format goals, in various themes.

I could go on, but we could probably start a whole thread for them.
