This guy has been reborn so many times by Reaper, ha ha. Especially his sword/axe combo pose. Always up for Pathfinder goblin goodness, as they are my favorite part of Pathfinder.

I could've swore I saw a 3-stage barbarian somewhere as well for the upcoming KS.  If there are a lot of those I'm doomed.  I absolutely loved the three stage characters from Ral Partha back in the day.

I've collected just over half of the old RP 3-stage series - including a set of the female fighter still in the original plastic baggie packaging, lol.

I'm definitely down for more Reaper 3-stage figures...

  • Prior to Reaper Live last night I have watched Crow's Nest and apart from the 30th anniversary dragon, there was following piece shown:

Apparently it is part of Green Griffon expansion. It seems to be holding some sort of fiddle. Just my opinion it was not stated. It is sculpted by Christine Van Patten.

Another sort of reveal were bugbears painted by Michael Proctor (partially during the show). There is going to be one more female bugbear in the pack for sure and potentially one more magic user bugbearrof some kind depending on the time. I believe those were sculpted by Bobby Jackson.

Ron said that figure in the first picture is a ghost in the tavern, and there would be a child ghost as well

Speculation: we're actually going to get a tavern, hence all of the figures to go in it.

I, for one, would be A-OK with this.

Tavern would be ok, not high on my list, but I'd be ok with it. So many options out there now for taverns, interiors & such. I guess, Reaper needs to add their name to the list. Sitting patrons are still a bit rare, so those are nice.

I tend to not use minis for sitting tavern scenes, so if the tavern is an expansion, I'll have to think if I really want it thou.

If we are gonna get a tavern, Reaper needs to include a couple of sprawled [passed] out wolves with beer steins next to them in honor of all the wolves around here!

.. if you really want a multiple-level reference, a bunch of wolves passed out around a slop tub.

(I need at least three days to dredge up the panel, because I /know/ I'm going to end up reading the whole dang comic. Again)

Let's hope it's not too little, too late.   Personally I think any scale building of proper size would be too large for Reaper to manufacture, and far too expensive after KS to make it to retail.  I'm thinking twice the size of the pirate ship for any decent tabletop play.  And for what it would cost, there are a lot of competitor's products.

I wonder if Reaper will try its hand at their own version of "contrast paints".  I was thinking this would be the perfect time to unvail them.

I find it unlikely that they would decide to compete in that segment of the paint market.

Paint?  I got two thin coats coming in plus speedpaints.  Not sure if I need more 'random' paints.  I liked the old triad system.

Not random paint colors. It looks like most of those are discontinued colors, parts of triads no longer available on store shelves. There will be interest, I'm sure, from people who were sad to see them go.

Yeah, I think that has been kind of mentioned during one of the streams. That they are not going to go full terrain. Leaving that to companies specializing in that and focusing on Reaper's strong suite: miniatures. I guess there might be quite a bit of scatter terrain for the tavern, like in Brinewind expansion but no floors and walls.

Then again I might be wrong or Reaper wanted to make it a surprise. But I think Inarah has got strong points there.

A full-on, multi-room building (as opposed to a crypt, mausoleum, or chicken-legged hut) really doesn't seem like the sort of thing that's in Reaper's particular wheelhouse or the best application for Bonesium, and demand for a large plastic building of that sort seems a bit niche to me:  how many customers could there be for such a big chunk of plastic?

Then again, I was thinking more or less the same thing about the sailing ship, and yet Reaper actually went there, and it  seems to have been a popular product.

On the gripping hand, the ship had quite a grass-roots momentum behind it before that Kickstarter began, whereas Reaper seems to have been pretty quiet about any plans for a large building, and I don't think I've seen any backers ask for one until now. So, I'm skeptical we'll see one, but I wouldn't want to write the possibility out, either - it seems there's always room for surprises.

I don't think I'm in the market for anything big like that, myself, though - I'm happy enough with paper maps, erasable grids, dungeon tiles, and other 2D terrain.  And, I've got a stash of both MageKnight and Dungeons & Lasers 3D walls and floors in storage that I probably won't ever actually use - I don't really have the space for that stuff, let alone buildings!  That said, I'm not the target audience for that sort of thing - could be a lot of folks who can make room for large buildings, would provide plenty of demand to more than make up for my lack of interest!

Instead, I might consider going in for more innkeeper/tavern patron townsfolk and scatter terrain/dungeon-dressing, though, depending on what's included.  I've been a fan of that sort of thing ever since Reaper started including them in the first Kickstarter, and have gotten all of the Bones townsfolk and terrain since then.  Trouble is, there's a limit to how many barkeepers, waitresses, and dancers I can ever find a practical use for!  I'd really rather put that backing toward NPCs nobody else is doing in plastic:  Gothic Horror servant staff (butler, maid, cook, groundskeeper), nobles and royalty, court officials, carnies and hobos, suspicious countryfolk, etc.  The last couple of Kickstarters' townies - the big set of generic townsfolk civilians, the Dreadmere and Brinewind townsfolk, and the henchmen/women sets - have been absolutely fantastic, so if this Kickstarter has some unusual kinds of NPCs and/or distinctive characters, I'll probably be on board with them.  (And it bears repeating:  the henchmen sets were great "townsfolk" - some of the best yet!)
