Yeah, Flumphs are old-school and were brought back into the highlight in 5E.

Famous for being the only Lawful-Good creature in the Fiend Folio and one of the only LG monsters period for a long time

  It's inclusion is from what seems to be a bunch of people having a tantrum somewhere I guess?  That is not a good reason to incorporate things. I feel a headache coming on.

 

Anyway I like the gods and adventurers from hair but that terrain is just as bad as I feared it would be.  The scarab people are interesting though leaving me more intrigued by this set than I thought.

 

The dungeon denizens is essentially a fan favorites expansion which means it is a mix of oddball stuff and some interesting things.  Sadly it is a hard no from me.  Other than the bathalian and wyverns I either already have a pile of these or just would toss it in a box of junk for my daughter to destroy. 

Yea The flumph has been a part of D&D since its introduction in Field Folio in 1981. Yet despite  being around for 5 editions and over 40 years it is woefully underrepresented. Some of us do know what it is and are excited to finally get one in bones after we have gotten a pile of monsters  that we toss into a box of junk

Yep!  It is the one I sculpted during RVE.  Ron called me asking if it was still available, saying the he couldn't believe they were doing this. LOL.  Pics:

I can't speak for others, but they look fantastic to me.  A giant lizard was not at the very top of my wish list, but it was in my top ten.  A flumph is something I did not know I wanted, but I am honestly excited to get anything that has been around since 1st edition AD&D.  I like my monsters old-school and a little weird, and a flumph fits that description perfectly.

The d&d board game Castle Ravenloft has some clear flaming skeletons in it.  It's a pretty good deal for minis.

I do like the giant lizard.  A couple of them in a cave would make a nice encounter.  Animals like that are so versatile, they work for fantasy, pulp adventure, and sci-fi.  Some lizards, a few raptors, and t-rex, oh man!

If the flumph makes it to retail, I will have to purchase several to kitbash into flumph adventurers. And @Reaper Ron's heart truly wanted flumphs, I just had to give him a little nudge. It's just like suggesting to him to have tequila at the countdown party. Nothing wrong can ever happen from this.

I like the Flumph and I do not even play D&D these days. It should work fine as a creature in other settings though, from sci-fi to post-apoc as well as fantasy.
 

And us lawful good types need to stick together these days it seems.

This last 48 hours feels less like a roller coaster and more like the tea cups 😛

 

I'm wondering if it's because of the expansions. There were SO many expansions, and the 5 parts, and all of them viewed before hand. And once you pledged for an expansion that is it, no need to pledge more

 

It did feel like it was core, core, core, expansions x7, core core core,expansion, maybe 1 addon, then more more, more expansions, etc

 

And the add ons we have gotten so far are fairly lackluster, in that the majority are things we have gotten every Kickstarter and many of us don't need more of (orcs, gnolls, hellborn, Chibis) and not counting the unique ones from the core they recently split off

 

We have had 1 big add on unlocked, the dragon. 

 

I forsee me ending this at my existing $48 lol, so far I haven't seen anything to make me raise it

Very tempted by the Hakir expansion, there's not as much terrain as I thought there would be, but as much as I like them I know I'll never actually paint any of those god figures. Going to have to pick up the adventurers and scarab-folk if/when they hit retail (Along with a couple dozen other things!).

Eh, I like the Flumph. It's an iconic D&D creature which is underrepresented in miniatures. Also, it's one medium creature in an expansion so there is always something someone doesn't like.

 

I think this thread mostly errupted bc Pezler the Polychromatic has been mentioning them for years. Not really the level of meme/chat spam of a lighthouse, more of an inside joke. So even though I don't know them, I'm happy this Flumph is in there.

Personally I was getting the DD expansion anyway and I can see myself using the Flumph as a friendly NPC in the Underdark.
