I wonder how many people have said this, then ended up spending a bunch more money by the time the Pledge Manager closes?

My assumption is this:  the unlocks are done slowly to drive enthusiasm, more than a direct cost to produce each thing.  but there is still a correspondence
ie if the KS makes 50k  this is the largest coreset they can produce, and no expansions,  if the KS makes 1 million its 3 expansions and and 6 add-ons
at 2 million its 5 expansions and  11 add-ons.  (not including core breakout stuff)
then reapers sets up to add a few big fancy things in the last 40 hrs after the late arrivals have time to join,  to build peak excitement.

Lots of wiggle room built in to throw in engagement pieces, or demands by fans that get support behind them.

then its just a matter of deciding what order to release things.  I have been watching their Kickstarters since 3 weeks after reaper launched the first one, and they are pretty good at it.
anyway - there must have been a new goal hit while  I was typing this

usually that is the case, though i'd say in this Kickstarter the enthusiasm seems fairly low on all fronts for a multitude of reasons

my personal reason is that there just isn't anything it for me to get excited about /shrug, but i'm glad other people are really enjoying the offerings

but if you aren't getting the core, and you aren't interested in the expansions, then the KS does not have much to offer you right now, which wasn't the case in previous kickstarters. Other bones kickstarters had a lot more add ons / add on variety than this one, or at least it feels that way

and if i dont' want the core because i don't want more generic monsters', then i'm not going to be interested in generic monster add ons, which is most of what we've gotten haha

i'm just really hoping for some cool add ons in the last hours, not MORE expansions and MORE core unlocks and MORE generic monster add ons

This comment sent me to look at the Bones 5 Kickstarter page and do some quick math.  If someone bought all the add-ons from Bones 5, excluding the extra core set pieces, and did not buy either core set or expansions, they would have spent $592.  That number for this kickstarter is $268 so far.  Leave out the paints (and the learn-to-paint kit last time), and the numbers are $516 vs. $232.  I suspect the reduced options are an effort to simplify shipping headaches, but it may have cost a lot of pledges to buy that streamlining.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I absolutely agree that we need some cool add-ons in the little time remaining, both to drive up pledge numbers and because I just want to buy more.

and now lets look at the types:

Bones 5 add ons:

Dragons:  6

Dragon born set, of variety of classes

Siege equipment: 3

Yokai

Townsfolk NPCs, always good

Dragon bust

Giants: 2 (Storm, Fire)

Mouslings

Paint: 2 sets

Ecounters: 4 (Troll bridge, mandupar pass, dwarf king crypt, gallowgard)

Giant spider

Elemental scion pack

Spider set with terrain

Rune wight skeletons

Humanoid bust pack

Pirate ship
Siren pack with terrain

Charnel pit with terrain

Male Incubus

Shadows of ravenhome with terrain

Yog-Sothoth e

Bones 6:

Paints: 2 sets

Gnoll squad

Orc squad

Bugbear squad

Hellborn

Men at arms build a figure

Path finder chibis: 2 sets

2 dragons, 1 being the big anniversary one

Legendary tales: Owlbears

lighthouse

and that's it. not counting core-separated items added as add ons.

Bones 5 had so much variety. you had encounters, you had little sets with figures and terrain, you had UNIQUE things like the dragonborn or Incubus, siege equipment, etc

Bones 6 has a bunch of generic monsters we've gotten in every kickstarter, a few chibis, and the legendary tale, and a lighthouse that wasn't even planned to be added at first but winds up being one of the most unique offerings

Very good point. I am pledging for a slightly higher proportion of the total models than in Bones 4 and 5 but my pledge total is lower. As far as the models go this looks like their best Kickstarter yet. More varied styles, improving use of the various Bones materials, and more cohesive themes all have me excited, but there is a limit to how many doubles I want. Even though it looks like this will be the smallest Bones campaign it still matches any of the others for me.

I am one of those people. After five Bones campaigns, I fully expected to do it anyway.

Upped my pledge in the last hour too. And I won't be surprised if I add more for extras in the following months.

In Comparison to bones 4  -  and based on when it reached 1.5 million  - If im right comparing a KS that hit 3 million to one at 1.5 m is apples to much smaller apples.

Bones 4, at the current pledge amount:  (1.5 million)

1 expansion (chronoscope)

13 add-ons

Hill giants

wraiths

High rollers

Trolls

Rocky (set of Chibli Dragons)

Dragon Turtle

Skeletal Monsters

Male & Female statues

tree of despair

BabaYagas Hut

Zombie Dragon

150$ for just the adds, no core breakouts or expansions.

In conclusion.  I should have bought the set of Rockies, they are adorable.

I would like more dragons.

Also, does anyone know if we are going to be getting any new reveals today? I just saw that Reaper switched some of its Twitch time slots around where they had something between the playtest and Reaper Errant

I would say it's highly unlikely at this point.  With just over 24 hours to go, I would think they're going to try and work through most of the stuff they've already revealed and shown as future unlocks on the Kickstarter page, before adding anything new.

There are two levels of reveal.  "Teasing" stuff by showing a single possible figure or part of a figure is one thing; no implicit promise is made.  But when you show a set with a price and a a unlock pledge amount, and put it on the Kickstarter page; that is more of a commitment by Reaper.

Today, maybe not.

During the live broadcast of the final hours of the campaign... anything is possible. New reveals? New unlocks regardless of achieving the target goal? Who knows.

There's another map after Chaarondar, I hope they add it today, it might have a surprise, but I won't hold my breath.

I don't know about reveals, but as far as the twitch - I think you might have been seeing Reaperland (cancelled this week) being overtaken by the rpg stream if you're referring to the schedule at twitch.tv/reaperminiatures/schedule

There are NO streams ETA: TODAY after the rpg stream is over - not even Reaper Errant tonight (cancelled because the participants are at the factory for the end of the kickstarter)

I just confirmed this with Justin.

ETA: Next stream is the countdown party at 12pm central tomorrow.
