I'm not usually interested in the big terrain pieces, but this one looks like it might be more useful/versatile than most and the minis is comes with are promising. Whereas, I'm worried that it's too... specific/distinctive to be useful consistently. A more generic lighthouse would be much more useful than a decrepit one such as this. I still think I'll get it, but I'm not sure that it's as useful as it could be. Sort of like how the Stygian Barge is cool, but it isn't nearly as useful as a generic barge would be.

I guess I just have to understand I am not Reaper's target customer anymore They want customers who will buy basic monsters in bulk and adventurers, not the ones who just want big cool things to paint Maybe I'd be better off investing the money I spend on Kickstarters into getting a resin printer Getting a resin AND an FDM printer opens up so many possibilities. I recommend (resin) Mars 2 pro or saturn (I think jupiter is just too big for one person to use easily and mars 3 I hate the look) and (FDM) Neptune 2S. They are both from elegoo and they are great printer's and elegoo's customer service is awesome!
Iridil
I am not Reaper's target audience. I think I've never been anyone's target audience. I'm good with that. But Ihaven't been here from the start, so maybe I'm less invested in that. Yet somehow I now have hundreds of plastic mini's waiting for paint..... I don't think 6 was as great as 5... but I like what I'm getting!
Joshinminn
I spent roughly half of what I spent in Bones V, but I see that my per-mini cost is exactly the same, to the cent — $1.74 per mini. A damn fine deal in my opinion, considering the size of some of them. Hope to see some more things in the PM I can add on. Regarding comments that long time Bones Kickstarter supporters aren’t the Target market of Reaper anymore, I think that’s not quite right. You may not be the target of the Kickstarters, but that doesn’t mean Reaper as a business is only focused on the Kickstarter audience. I think they’re pretty good about making that just a part of what they do. One of my biggest compliments of the company is how they build a community to keep customers engaged long term. Edited to add they keep customers engaged year round too, which shows they are much more than just focused on kickstarters for their business model. Sirithiliel
Mm in regards to reaper keeping the community engaged, I'd like to see more updates and news happen outside of twitch streams Not everyone can sit around watching random rambling for hours on the off chance something important is mentioned, and yet news seems to only come from there and we only find out because people that watch it share the news 17

With the rpg in beta, I really hope twitch streams aren't the only way to get info on it, as I'm a gamer but I don't like watching others game, especially via media streams.
Walkingbass
There’s been a lot of talk comparing this KS to the previous ones, to the extent where the Facebook group had daily posts comparing the financial performance of that day to every previous KS. I understand the tendency, but I’ve had to remind myself to judge it on its own (and my own) terms, especially as my first. The core is very exciting to me, with over 110 figures at almost a dollar a figure. I’ve also backed for a heap of great options, including Owlbears a go go, some of the most beautiful fare figures I’ve seen, two huge dragons (including one that scares me when I think of tackling it), some fantastic orcs and bugbears, and more paint to fit in my case. I’m personally really happy with how this unfolded, and had a pretty good time. Thanks Chaoswolf for all the great pictures - hope you had fun at the party! If only Texas was closer to Australia! 15
DragonWyrm
I think I will go over what I liked and didn't for the core set. Legend: Like, Don't care Core Set: Spoiler 22001 Dragoth: this version is sufficiently different from the other one. Looks like a nice sculpt. 22002 Boren: Fat cat and dwarf. A nice figure and some interesting imagery on his staff. 22003 Elf Mage: I like that the spell is a crystal instead of generic fire/lightning. 22004 Human Rogue: an opportunity to practice OSL, the clothing doesn't really fit the rest of the gang. 22005 Dwarf Cleric: Don't like the armour. Otherwise, quite a generic figure, if well sculpted. 22006 Halfling fighter: Meh. If I want fighter halflings I would get the war-games Atlantic plastics. The weapon choice is nice. 22007 - 22011: Nice gnomes. Like the illusionist. He feels whimsical. 22012 Rage Claw Warrior: wolfman. Needs more similar sculpts. 22013 Tara: similar to a sculpt from previous bones kickstarter. It would be interesting if reaper now did one character in multiple archetype roles. 22014 Kragmarr Pummeler: Not really my interest. A dwarf with spiked gloves. 22015 Bog Shambler: the first big mini. It has nice details, but anything that looks like dirt/mud/earth is something that I can easily make with some air dry clay and texture paste. 22016 Bloodstone Golem: people who got the bloodstone gnome in bones 4 would probably be happy. I didn't and it does look like rocks with mechanical arms. 22017 Mercurix: CAT DRAGON! Nice and since I haven't brought any of them before I am happy with it. 22018 Dhulrrek: A dwarf warrior with oversized axe. 22019 Diva: not sure about the face and armour. But the pose with the book really draws me in. Seems more ceremonial. 22020 Domur: Old sculpt and I like the spell effects. 22021 Roderic and Glitter: Now that is a nice handling on dragon. The wings are interesting and look more like ribs that got expanded to allow gliding. Which makes more sense for 4 legged dragons if you think in evolutionary terms (changing the function of something that exist vs getting new limbs). Plus there exist lizards/amphibians who use their ribs in defensive ways. 22022 Jacob: Nice monk/martial artist 22023 Zavanthus: An evil wizard that is throwing a spell or doing a dance gig. 22024 Elven Cat: A big cat 22025 Airlyn: a more natural pose than the metal, but it is missing some of the original charm/character. 22026 Asandris Nightbloom: Perfect figure and clothing. 22027 Eli Quicknight: A generic assassin. Forgetting that the best assassins are people that look like civilians. 22028 Amesha: An exotic dancer. Non-human! 22029 Vodelis: Nice sculpt, still not sure about the scale mail skirt. Plus I don't have the figures that fit the style (I think he was sculpted during one of the previous kickstarters.). 22030 Skeletal Houndmaster: I have given up. I have a undead army and there is nothing I can do to stop it. 22031-22046 Zombies: I need some zombies for my undead army, but I don't have any strong feeling about these ones. 22047-22050 Town Guard: I like that the weapons match the previous sculpts. But I already have them from past kickstarters. We could have gotten more x-bowmen instead of the melee options. 22051 Amari: Nice bald scholar/wizard. 22052 Jada: Seems to have a hairstyle I identify as African. Don't like part of her armour. 22053 Vance: not sure about his shorts/boots? 22054 Iago: Like the backpack. But those pauldrons! At least they are better than some other pauldrons. 22055 Cailleach: a nice gypsy, pirate fortune teller. 22056 Catalin: Looks nice. Nothing is too exaggerated 22057 Hugo: a nice big dog 22058-22063 Ants: They are nice but not something that interest me in particular. Plus I would have preferred them to be a specific ant species (the one with the square heads that they use to block entrances to the nests when danger is near). 22064 Masquerade Sophie: A really nice dress. A removing the wings doesn't seem to be something that would cause problems. 22065 Bourbon Street Sophie: A nice outfit and the wings can easily be removed to be used for other creatures. 22066 Vax: A nice thiefling pirate. But I already have so many captains. 22067 Angelica: A nice pirate captain, but I already have a lot of them. 22068 Kaiser: Love him. Could easily see him be obsessed with the great white whale. 22069 - 22072 Mudmen: They are mud. I don't really need them and can easily sculpt something passable if I ever need too. 22073 - 22076 witches: Hand sculpted old women having fun. 22077 Nightmare: An interesting pose and design. Plus this is a large model 22078 Owl: A nice owl. I can always hide it on some base 22079 Ferret: Reaper really likes their ferrets. Luckily it can work as a stoat, mink or weasel. Hide it on some base to add some visual interest. 22080 Red Panda: I do like animals, but this kickstarter it can only really fit the monk (22022) 22081 Rooster: I already have a lot fo roosters. Nearly every single farm animal set has a rooster. Sure this is a nice rooster, but... 22082- 22084 Mongrel Folk: Some nice mutations, but I prefer what Eureka designs. 22085 Adventurer Sophie: Get rid of thee wings and I have the daughter of Laura Croft and Indiana Jones 22086 Gravestone Sophie: Really nice pose, without wings looks like a vampire or ghost. 22087 Werebear: A decent werebear, but I don't have any units to put him with. 22088 Driftlurker: A nice monster. but not my style. 22089 Warg: Love the hand sculpted fur and the wolflike nature. 22090 - 22092 Wolves: Really nice designs and sculpting quality. Love them. 22093 Hatchling: I imagined a different way of breaking the egg. 22094 Al Miraj: We could always use more rabbits. After all they breed like rabbits! 22095 Lardgulp: interesting scaly designs and weapon choice. 22096 - 22099 Fire Newts: Love the sorcerer who has a diplocaulus head. They will be interesting to paint. 22100 Kragmarr Berserker: A nice sculpt. Doesn't seem to behave like a berserker. Would have been nice to have him biting a shield 😛 22101 Grimm: Like the interesting clothing design. The hammer reminds me of some art of Mjornir. 22102 King Hargrim: A horned helmet and double bladed axe... 22103 Kragmarr Royal Guard: Like the axe. Even thought he has a horned helmet. 22104 Barbarian Prince: A nice Conan 22105 Honeythorn Lancer: Love the design. Reminds me of hollow knight god tamer, but bees. 22106 Arik: the sculpt just doesn't call to me. 22107 Lashanna: The corset seems uncomfortable. 22108 Sister Arani: the concept art looks good, I hope that the sculpt keeps the proportions. 22109 Oxidation Beast: love the textbox on the graphic. The sculpt looks good. 22110 - 22111 Raptorkin: They will be fun to paint even if I hate painting feathers (I am getting better at doing them.) 22112 Barbarian Conqueror: A nice unique pose, but too similar design to the barbarian prince for me to consider him different. 22113 Barbarian King: Looks really good and I like how he is now "civilised". 22114 Vandorendra: Snake lady! Problem with core set: Not enough medium figures: Bog Shambler, Bloodstone Golem, Nightmare, Werebear, Warg, Driftlurker, Lardgulp, Honeythorn Lancer, Vandorendra. Especially when compared to past core sets. Who had a lot of medium sized figure and Large ones too (nightmare is probably the biggest in this core set) Only some figures can be out in sets (ants, warg and wolves, newts, gnomes, guards, witches and mudmen). Most others, even if they were unlocked in a "set", are not really conductive for building single encounters together. Not enough human sized or smaller monster. Lacking a larger theme for multiple unlocks. Bones 4 had the villagers, Bones 5 had the dragons and undead. I think the decision to not break down the core set may have been what removed the larger consistent themes. When Reaper was breaking up the core set they considered how to make the groups as large as possible so that they could break them off together. Final thought on the core set: I didn't dislike anything. But it is lacking in several key areas and some of the sculpts, I just didn't care about. The prevalence of digital sculpted figures is a little disappointing. If I want digital sculpts I may just as well buy a 3d printer instead. In most cases it doesn't matter, but fur and hair are the two areas that hand sculpted looks so much better. Expansion opinions: GG: Too generic and not enough fun patrons. The patrons that are there are really nice. Sullenhall: Nice, the bone piles seem a little meh and I don't like the female vampire amour designs. Would have preferred male armour or over the top dress. Maybe I will paint the armoured skeletons as black knights? That may make me like them more. Briarwood: Not enough red caps to make them something more useful. Will o'wisps are boring. Probably because I remember the Malifaux Halloween version with the children chasing the light. They just seem so uninspired... I like everything else. Which is really good for the expansion. I would have preferred to have more Faeries to make a wild hunt to court of winter/summer. But I can't complain about interesting figures. DD: Nice monster. Especially the wyverns. I like how we have more of the fat troll designs. Haakir: I like it, but I feel that it's going to be cut due to budget. It does have a large amount of medium to large figures. Nunae
Ok, with the dust being settled a bit my personal thoughts as someone who backed Bones IV, V and now VI. I'm a forever DM who has been playing online for two years, but is back to using real maps and miniatures for two sessions now (which is greatly increasing my miniature hype). - Coreset/Core Extras: I've pretty similar feelings towards all three coresets. Always some cool stretch goals, but the base offering here doesn't really grab me. The adventurers are nice, but I see them as conversion fodder or paint practice pieces. Gauth was big but not my style of dragon (will eventually become a statue I guess). I prefer the two smaller dragons in the Bones V core set, but Bones V was just dragon extravaganza. I do prefer the way they split up the new core. A lot of the old groups made no sense to me. Why would I want more generic Elf rangers, but group them with the Drow characters? Buy more of those heavily armored skeletons, but with the undead giant, some wolves and two reapers for good measure? Or I'd have liked more of the blight plant things from Bones V, but not in a set with trolls, a snakewoman, and 6 other unrelated things. Want a wolfdragon? Oh, here, also get two other dragons and a basilisk. Might double up on ants, mudmen, newts and the lancers. Great to see them in sensible groupings! - Expansions: I LOVE Briarwood. Been waiting for a fey expansion for all this time, and it always felt kinda bad to see a kickstarter close and be like "guess in two years there will be another shot". I prefered Dreadmere (Bones IV) and Brinewind (Bones V) over the Green Griffin, since those were more flavorful to me. I can get a lot of tavern furniture and patrons already, and none of them really grab me. I prefer Denizens of the Dungeon over Dungeon Dwellers (Bones V). Similar theme, but DotD has more unique creatures, while Dungeon Dwellers gave us a lot of stuff that were in the Core Set of the same kickstarter already. Shadows of Sullenhall is neat but I have a lot of undead. Hakir is similar to Greek Odyssey (Bones V) or Lost Valley (Bones IV) with the less-common-but-still-fantasy theme. Probably gonna get two Briarwoods, the Denizens of the Dungeon and Hakir, though Hakir is the one I'm unsure about. Sad we're not getting a Fan Favorite, but we weren't really getting into "exceeding expectations" territory with SGs, so maybe there wasn't space for one. - Options: Bones V kinda felt like "dragon revival" and we're ofc missing a lot of those this time. It's also hard to compare, since Bones V made over 3 Mio$ so no idea what else they had planned. They always had more "basic" creatures in options as well (the Townsfolk, Dragonfolk, Rune Wights, Demonic Temptation in Bones V) but the percentage this time was high and it took us long to get to "the good stuff", while Bones V had Valfuryx (a dragon) as the first SG. We also didn't really have a theme with the options like we did with "all chromatic dragons" and "warmachines" in Bones V or "giants and dinos" in Bones IV. - Encounters: We obviously got less of those in Bones VI. I'm a bit sad we get less terrain with them, but the creatures and themes I actually prefer over those from Bones V. The spiders, the skeletons, the not-dead-yet dwarves and the vampire women are all things I don't really see myself using independently of their encounter packs. I mean it was a great way to sell me miniatures I already have a lot of. The salamanders and their drake friend I'll probably double up on though, and the Rotstump Bog and Owlbear Encounter also have more interesting takes on the actual miniatures than the spiders or skeletons (but weaker on the terrain). Sad we didn't get to see the Deep Ones, those would have been a great addition to my collection as well. - Kickstarter Exclusives: With each kickstarter I've been a part of there have been things that didn't make it to retail. Bones III (which I narrowly missed) had the weapon packs which took years to arrive. Bones IV is still missing some of their bigger items (Barge? Argent? Nyarlathotep? Mossbeard? Dance of Death? Dungeon Tiles? Dragon Turtle? At least I can't find them in the webstore). We'll see if all of Bones V will be released, but I think I heard Ron say the pirate ship might not make it to retail. So while I DO NOT like Kickstarter Exclusives, I highly prefer them marking "non-sellers" as such so we know to get them now instead of hoping for retail. And I kinda get that some of the things they put in the kickstarter are more fanservice or flights of fancy (in a good way) and less things a traditional store is looking for.

Also the sculpts of the new minis, or resculpts of old ones are really top notch. As well as change in the plastic used. To stay competitive, within the wider market, with resin printing on the rise, they simply had to up their game. Probably molds from Bones 1 & 2 and the bonesium process will become obsolete soon. Not to mention move of core production back to US, which is also part of the equation most likely. Sure to people supporting Reaper's kickstarters since 2012 these might not be as enticing as Bones 5 models. But there were so many things happening in our hobby and the world in the last couple of years that some changes were inevitable. Most likely once Bones USA or Siocast process will have larger minis production figured out, we will see more Bones 5 reminiscent offerings in future campaigns.
Guyra
I ended up at the $10 level for this one, and decided to throw most of my Bones 6 money into the Galladoria KS instead. Bones 6 ended up with some cool stuff, but I'm generally underwhelmed and disappointed this time. I'll be adding the Anniversary Dragon and the Lighthouse in the PM for sure. Probably a couple of the Extras. Beyond that? My considerations: CORE & EXPANSIONSCore Set: Extremely disappointing in many ways, from my perspective. Some things there that aren't extras I'd like to see, though(familiars/almiraj especially). Green Griffin: Very maybe. Would have to do some resculpting on some of the minis. If that orc patron was part of it, I'd be more likely to. Sullenhall: Maybe. I want the terrain pieces and the giant skeleton. I care little for the rest of this set. Briarwood: Nope. I'd mainly like the fairy dragons(including the big one). Denizens: Slight maybe. Good set, but for me there's only like a handful of minis I actually want. Hakir: Maybe. I want half the terrain pieces, half the gods, half the creatures, half the NPCs... OPTIONS Blackmane Gnolls: Great sculpts. Might get them, as I need more gnolls. Men-at-arms: Absolutely zero interest. Orcs: Nah. I have so many orcs already. Chaarondar: Probably, but not too high on the list. Owlbears: Maybe. I like the two terrain pieces, but don't care about the dwarf. I already have a ton of owlbears, including baby ones. Hellborn: I like the sculpts, but I'm not sure I like them enough to pay $2.30 a piece in a package deal. Kind of feels like retail package deal price. Bugbears: Maybe. Really like Tonk. And I could use more bugbears. Price feels a bit steep though. Anniversary Dragon: Yes, of course! Love that they also added that front membrane on the wings! The added mounted/unmounted Death Knight is a nice addition. Phoenix Egg: Very unlikely. Not feeling this one at all. Lizardfolk: A couple of cool sculpts, but I have a ton of Reaper lizardfolk already. So no. Lighthouse: Absolutely! Love that they turned the meme into an amazing piece of terrain! With the lighthouse keeper and walrus, this also feels like the closest we got to a Bones 5 style Encounter Set this time. Storm Giant: Maybe. Might get this one, now that they removed the ridiculous nipples. Rotstump: I really just want the fallen hero piece, so probably not. Any chibis: Not really interested. Any paints: Maybe, but unlikely. EXTRAS Extra Ants: Yes. Maybe even two. Extra Townguard: Probably, as they'd fill out the ones I have from Bones 4. Extra Mudmen: Probably not. Just don't care for them, and I have other minis already I could use for whatever I'd want to use these for. Extra Wolves: Highly unlikely. Extra Lancers: Might've gotten this if I got Briarwood, but alas. Extra Newts: They're nice, but unlikely for me.
Evilhalfling
I am satisfied. Not as many dragons as I would like, but I went in not expecting to get the core set. like bones 4 , I don't currently need 100+ general use minis. come bones 7, I may be ready for another one. I like having a big pile of possibility. If I buy a core I will need to paint the Whole thing. Finished 1,2,3, and 50 figures into 5 Core Set: a couple of figures that made me say ooh! but nothing to make me change my intent. Green Griffin: I bought into a KS in 2020? around a tavern, with a bunch of cool seated patrons and some furniture. haven't painted them yet. Sullenhall: like the crypt & terrain, don't need more undead Briarwood: LOVE. I just want to paint cute minis ATM. slyphs, flower fae girls, small trent, fae dragons, the AMAZING Shimmerscale. Denizens: Slug, trolls, trogs and wyverns are highlights, - about 40$ worth of value to me - just edged out by Hakir this is moving up on my list. Hakir: I like painting 75mm in bones. here I get 6. and since this is a niche item expect them to come to retail slowly, if ever. I also like the terrain and the werehippo. OPTIONS Blackmane Gnolls: Great sculpts. will probably get. Men-at-arms: no, too much trouble. Orcs: - I have plenty, I don't need another style of orcs Chaarondar: I dont like every dragon. Owlbears: the nest is tempting, but im leaning no Hellborn: no. Bugbears: good sculpts. but I like other options more. Anniversary Dragon: YES. this big bad is a must have. Phoenix Egg: no. Lizardfolk: I was a LM kick 2 years ago, painted them very stylized, but have moved on. Lighthouse: Hated the concept, loved the art. Buying one. might add a second once I see the execution. Storm Giant: Yes, Rotstump: no. chibis: goblins - maybe based on currently wanting to paint cute minis Other chiblis no. Any paints: I have a lot of paints, some even run out and need to be replaced. will I need these colors in 18 months? not willing to gamble. EXTRAS Extra Ants: Yes. pledged for 2, may drop to 1 to get other things. Extra Townguard: maybe. This would be handy when running a campaign, to have a unified set, but im used to making do. Extra Mudmen: no, I painted most of the boulderkin as muddy. Extra Wolves: im good, so many wolves scattered through my collection. Extra Lancers: no. Extra Newts: yes, because I had a PC (grippi) that licked his eyeballs when nervous. some surgery will be required. Budget: 131$ spent in KS PM wants : 65- 163 $

While I don't know about all of the old new sculpts, the zombies are easy to explain: every Kickstarter, Reaper takes a group of low level sword-fodder from the last campaign and puts them into the current campaign as bonus extras. This time it was those zombies, in the past they've done lizard men, goblins, bugs, and a few others that I can't recall right now. I'm glad you enjoyed the KS campaign. I'm glad that my pictures were helpful to many of you. 13
