aku-chan
I love that skeleton! But isn't he a little too detailed to be a mini?

I just started painting about a year ago, and real life got in the way when Bones 5.5 opened up. I'm excited for this. Welcome, Magnus. I late pledged for Bones I, but I have managed to back all the Bones Kickstarters on time since. 20 minutes ago, aku-chan said: I love that skeleton! But isn't he a little too detailed to be a mini? Bones USA has the ability to make crisp detailed minis from the master minis.

It could be a giant skeleton. There isn't anything else in the graphics to provide scale. Edited March 29, 2022 by Chaoswolf 11
ksbsnowowl
That would be an amazing giant skeleton.

This is why I always like my Giants with gubbins and loot to remind you of their scale. Skulls, wee folk swords hanging from belts, sacks of loot, a cow on a belt as a snack. It helps them not just seem like differently scaled minis.

I think you're onto something here, as the details in the skull usually aren't as pronounced as a 28mm miniature. Now if it was on flames & it was coming out before August of this year, I'd be totally in! (in need of a huge flaming skeletons). Either way it's a fantastic sculpt, just the amount of detail in that one sets it apart from a regular skeleton, giant or otherwise. 1 minute ago, snitchythedog said: I am still stoked about this! Cheap Stirges or Stirge-clones have been a necessity in D&D as you just don't send 1 at a party! Funny, speaking of Stirges, in one of my first 5e campaigns I ran at my FLGS, I sent around 5 or 6 at the party as a random, night encounter & the party almost got defeated!! LOL. They'd hit them, but only do 1 pt of damage each time as they didn't have their main weapons & where mostly unarmored.

In classic or Bones Black material I'd be inclined to agree. In metal or good resin, it can and has been done. Dunno about Bones USA material.
nearsightedgiraffe
I wonder if the skeleton's leg is propped up in something that gives it scale- such as a pillar or pile of corpses.
