GST, PST and HST

???

Isn't PST a time zone? and as a Brit HST means High Speed Train. Bad enough havinf customs inport duty and VAt and what ever excuse can be found to fleece people...but it sounds like a nightmare (available in Bones 6!) to me in the United States.

As for what I am most looking forward to from Bones 6....

Dragons (always dragons)

Fairies

Fairy Dragons/Dragon Fairies

Bees

Hopefully the Chibi dragon (if it comes to a pledge manager near here)

Lizard People (hmmm, I must have a thing for reptilians...)

There are a few other things I really like, spread over pretty much every expansion and the core. So, I shall have wait for retail for a few of them.

It's Canadian Sales Tax hoodoo.

Not sure if you were going for purple or not but I'll attempt to a'splain in case anyone's curious. (spoiler-ed for length)

Spoiler

GST is Goods and Services Tax.  This is everywhere and IIRC is about 5%.
PST is Provencial Sales Tax. Some Provinces uses this, but not all.

If it was just the two, it would be basically the same as US sales tax, but some provinces got creative, and combine the two into HST (Harmonized Sales Tax).  HST Provinces don't charge the other two, they only charge HST.

For consumers, it's not terribly complicated. What makes it gnarly is for the reseller.  In the US, goods purchased for resale are normally purchased without the sales tax collected, and logged under a taxID number, Depending on the state there's usually some kind of reporting that happens that says "I sold $X in goods for resale and did not collect sales tax for those items."

Canada takes the onus of collecting taxID information off of the first seller.  The reseller will pay sales tax at the time of purchasing their inventory.  They have to track how much they paid, because when they resell it and collect sales tax on the sale of the goods, they can discount the amount of sales tax they have to pay to the government by the ammount they originally paid.  For example, if I bought $100 of goods and paid 8% HST, I paid $108, and the seller paid the $8 to the province.  When I resell those goods for, say, $200, I will collect $16 in HST sales tax.  When I fill out my tax report at the end of the month, I can deduct the $8 that has already been paid as a credit, and remit only $8 of the $16 I collected.

This is all VERY generalized.  There are more complicated rules when the sales cross provincial lines, though they're simpler when both provinces use HST

Vat gets all the news these days, but the brain numbing snarl that is all the interactions between GST, PST and HST took someone truly diabolical to write....

Not to mention all the exceptions to either PST or GST that are out there...  Sadly though, much as we may argue otherwise, miniatures and paints are not considered essential goods 😛

Reaper customer service is the best.  I ordered a miniature that turned out to be missing a piece, and when they sent me a replacement, this fellow was added to the box too.

It reminded me, though, that he never showed up during the Bones 6 Kickstarter despite being one of the earliest previews.  I wonder where he is, and whether he will show up in the Pledge Manager as an add-on.  He looks fantastic, so I hope he shows up with a bunch of his friends.  (And goblins always bring friends, right?)

Cool! Do we know what all 6 preview minis are?

Got mine too. Deciding whether to add anything besides what I paid for.

Options: Denizens, Storm Giant (painted as Athena for the wife who is big on classical mythology), mystery as yet revealed, requests from local friends/gaming group that either I'm paid for in advance or don't mind.

I was hoping they would add some extras to the PM as currently, I'm not exactly sure what I want to spend my initial funds on. Most likely big items thou, helps with the hurt of the cash leaving the wallet. ::P:

Last time the PM opened December 10th, but they didn’t add any power-ups until January 2020. I’m not surprised there are no power-ups yet.

Is there any advantage to checking out now in the Pledge Manager?  For example, will they run out of things so I can't add them if I don't buy early enough?  I know we can add more later, and I probably won't change my mind about anything I want now, but since this is my first Bones Kickstarter, I'm still a bit unclear on how this works.  Can we remove items after checking out and have credit returned?

At this point there will be no credits or refunds, except maybe in unusual circumstances.  You've paid what you pledged.  Now is the time when you pick your rewards.  They won't run out of things because every item is being made to order.

Based on comments I saw in chat, once you check out you're done.  You can't reopen it and add stuff.  Or remove it. They may "fix" that later, because there was talk of the PM being open until late this year or early '23.  No final date has been set yet.

No word on add-ons or extras in the PM, other than a comment by Ron saying that last time they did that much later in the process.

So this is totally different then B5 then? If then, I'm definitely will be waiting to finalize my pledge.

I had decided to actually get the Core (mainly due to the wait to retail) but I'll probably reconsider this if the above is true.

Hm interesting, wonder what will happen to that $22 I didn't spend if I can't add more to it

Guess we shall see!
