That's how I feel about the stirges.  Three more looked nice, since I already have some, but 13 more gives me a nice swarm.  But what if I throw A LOT of stirges at some players someday?  Maybe I need 23, and it's only $6 more than 13.  Then again, for another $6 on top of that, I can have 33 new stirges...

Yeah, I'm not sure how I'm going to handle this.  Bones 6 is my first Bones Kickstarter, and my wife already complains about how many extra minis I have to paint.  And she does not share my interest in the hobby at all.  She's going to be annoyed when she sees how many I'm getting, but hopefully she knows better than to make me choose between her and the minis.  (And I'm only getting ONE lighthouse!)

On the plus side, they only let you order 10 units of any given item, so your stirge swarm will either have to max out at 103, or you'll have to open a second pledge manager account.

Nah, it can max out at 130 if I also buy ten of the Rotstump Bog set.  But 130 stirges is way more than I need, right?  Right?

Plus it’s often an infinitely long wait. Tonnes of Bones Kickstarter minis have never made it to retail.

That's why my B3-B6 strategy has been to make my Wishlist, sort it by most expensive to least expensive and purchase things in that order.  

Oh I still do plenty of FLGS purchasing! Hit my local game store last Friday to surprise my son with a booster box of the new Obsidian Shadows Pokémon series and he pulled a Crystal Charizard card. He about died bc it’s the #1 rarest card of the series.

Yeah, you could say that. 

 

I mean, I know the con is a lot to handle,  but it shouldn't be that much trouble to say that the con is nearly here so there might not be an update next week (or that there's nothing new this week due to the coming con).

 

To be frank,  this lack of follow through on their schedule is one of the things turning me away from supporting another kickstarter (economic pressures and dwindling storage being two others).

Yeah, continued inability to do what you say you’re doing to do is never a good sign and we’re seeing a lot of those signs from Reaper in the past 12 months. It’s not giving me good vibes.

Do they have anyone on staff whose job is primarily communication?  I mean, they really should have a marketing department, even if that is just one person.  It seems that marketing and communication is kind of handled by everyone, which means it is handled by nobody.

And that has been one of the major problems for several years now, on top of several knowledgeable employees who have moved on, retired, etc. leaving them in a bit of a scramble to get everything done. 

 

Personally, the less I think about B6 these days, the better I feel about it. 😄

While I understand a scheduled update may have been missed, so what? Was there some big news you guys were expecting? Are you nervous you aren’t going to get your stuff? It’s a small business and they are preparing for their big annual event. People wear a lot of hats at small businesses and don’t always have the luxury of dedicated resources.
Maybe you look forward to the updates, and thus the disappointment, but I don’t really find much value in them at this point. I trust reaper will deliver and would rather them focus on their con (which I’m not attending, but would love to someday) and KS fulfillment, rather than putting together a communication that doesn’t really have much content anyway.

Cut em some slack I say!
