haldir
Since right now, the KS really doesn't have the "kick" for me like previous Bones KSes, I decided to break down what so far we see what really interests me. Core Set: Currently the Core Set isn't doing it for me, this time around. Most of the figures are just "Bones-fied" version over existing figures that I have already. Some figures, I've had, but they are now part of other metal Reaper minis (thanks to the metal exchange at ReaperCon (looking at you Bloodstone Golem!! )). Here is recap on new figures- I like the new Boren, but I also like the original metal figure. so this one is a toss up for me right now. Bog Shambler, like most everyone else is a great looking mini, one I'd hate to miss out on, waiting for it to reach retail. Amesh, I really like this sculpt, one I'll definitely get when/if she comes to retail. Gnomes - Eh, I'm not sure I like these or not, the whole "David the Gnome" look I'm not really into. The small adventuring party. I have the halfling thanks to a freebie/promo from a recent order. I'm kinda glad it was that one, as I don't care for the others. Zavanthus, interesting figure & sculpt. this is one I need to see in person to fully judging it. Skeletal Houndmaster, great figure, hopefully it'll be smaller then the metal one. Arilyn, I like Werner's sculpt but this is a nice addition. Zombie Horde, not new but I kinda wish for something else as the previous KS bulk figures. Town guard, these guys are nice, but they are bit bulkier then I'd like for town guards. Ants, these are fantastic & deserve to be on their own as a Add-on. Glad, Reaper listened to the masses & will allow extra purchases for these. Sophies, again, not new but nothing I really need, I have her in metal. Mudmen, are a great figure, these would be nice as an extra purchase figures as well. New familiars are great as always. Nightmare, decent figure, but nothing that is really pushing me want the Core set right now. Mongrelmen, decent figures, I still like my modular idea for these more. Gives a variety of figures & really plays on the mongrel part of their name. Overall, my pledge is currently $125, but it won't go to the Core Set this time around. Green Griffon Inn: Decent expansion, but having a 3d printer, I can print all the terrain in this one. The figures are kinda meh, to me in this one. I do like Zinnia. Darinna is a nice & interesting figure (did she hang herself or is she just hanging onto the part that caused her demise?) Briggley is a nice mimic, but mimic minis these are are dime a dozen. Greyhawk is a nice tribute to the Greyhawk setting (ReaperCon theme is going back to the dungeon, so why not?), even thou it's not been said it is (something I think). The bar owners are interesting. Jochim & Rose, as I'm pretty sure these are Joseph Wolf & his wife, Rose. Main writer for the tavern itself & for the rpg content of Reaper. Nice tribute! Overall, I won't be getting this one, too many things in it, I can print already. Shadows of Sullenhall: Decent expansion, but nothing I don't have already. Skeletons, plenty, ghosts, plenty. I don't really use much terrain in my games, especially buildings. It's just easier to draw out the walls vs trying to maneuver inside a physical building. I do like Vorvorlaka Elder. Playing a game at my FLGS a couple of years ago where I used the regular one, brings back great memories of that game, having a elder type would have made it better. Love the giant skeleton, I'll definitely get that one if/when it goes retail. The heavy armor guys are nice, I used a couple of existing Bones miniatures that are similar for skeletal knights in a ReaperCon game & it was a grea encounter. They are the original Bones, so these would have been a upgrade. Overall, I'm kinda torn on this one. There are things in it, I want as soon as possible, but there are also things I can wait for retail. Plus, who knows how much the skeleton giant will be when it reaches retail, so right now this one is probably 40-60 on me getting it. Briarwood Vale: As I've said on here, I'm currently running a Wild Beyond the Witchlight for my Saturday home group & I doubt we'll be playing when fulfillment comes, so I'm just treating this one like the other expansions. Overall, a decent expansion with a nice cohesive theme. I think the best things in it are: Bee Folk/Murder Hornet (glad to see these finally come out). Fairies & the fairy dragons. Depending on the size of the Arboreal Defender, this could be a great figure as well. Blight trees are out there but are expensive (for a prepaint) or are huge size (one thing I can't print on my printer, unless it's broken up, thou I can try & use it on my fdm printer, but I'm still trying to get the kinks out of that one). I'm sure Shimmerscale will be a fantastic sculpt. Overall, if there is a expansion, I'm gonna get, it'll probably be this one, thanks to numerous sculpts in it, I like. Paints: Currently, I'm not sure if I want this one right now. I normally just get the new paints in KS, so we'll see Add-on: Gnolls: Yes, this about the only things I'm truly sure on wanting. Men-at-Arms: Easy pass, I do like the concept, the sculpts are nothing I like. Pathfinder Chibi: The are decent & I'm sure will paint up nice, but I only want Fumbus, the goblin alchemist. Hopefully, he'll come out by himself. Pathfinder goblins: Like the gnolls, these I will get as I like anything Pathfinder goblin. I'm glad they were made as a add-on vs including them in the Core or expansion. Orcs: Decent sculpts, but orcs are something if I stopped buying, I'd never need anther one.
YronimosW
The giantess is excellent, especially given she's a work in progress. She definitely has a classical inspiration - she reminds me of the traditional representations of Britannia: Of course it's not an exact copy, and the Reaper artist and sculptor's original spin and style show through, but the sculpt pretty clearly builds on a traditional, classical, and graceful model. It works for me. Edited April 4, 2022 by YronimosW
ksbsnowowl
The twitch interface has a new ‘feature’ that caused Justin to accidentally reveal the $1,260,000 stretch goal graphic. At least I think that was the value; it was doing a slide-show 🤣 Lardgulp should be at $1.26 million. Edit 2: Make that $1.23 million. A few blog render was posted a few weeks ago. Went back after to screen cap from the twitch feed. Lots of stuff shown off, in turnaround or just green renders. Some were previews; most were just better pics of what we see on the KS page. Dawnseekers The imp in the middle doesn't have his tail sculpted yet: The Arboreal Defender is on a 2" base. Murder hornet should be on a 40mm base, if Ron was remembering right. Yes, the fuzzy render Rainbow Sculptor posted above is her work. It's the big faerie dragon WIP she's sculpting for the Fae expansion. Edited April 4, 2022 by ksbsnowowl 10

ksbsnowowl
This was from last night's update. Ron said they are still looking at casting these in a brick red color, but the green color shows off the render details better. 9
MoonglowMinis
Another Ettin?! This is not a criticism, as every sculpt has been cool (really like the chunkiness of this one), but I feel like we get a couple multi-headed trolls each go around. What kind of games are people playing with hordes of these guys? (honest question). Granted I think my opinion is influenced by my one encounter with an Ettin, where simply one was a formidable foe to my low-level rogue. 6

Technically, we have two Ettins (Nor'okk and the unnamed Ettin) in Bones and after the new Lardgulp, 2 Two-Headed Trolls. Lardgulp was actually a specific one borrowed from Tome of Horrors. Then we have the Three-Headed Troll who was just its own thing entirely. Now, I'm personally shocked there's another Minotaur coming. There is a surprising amount of them in Bones, I think they've averaged at least 1.5 per Kickstarter at this point.

The murder hornet and Shimmerscale are the only things in Briarwood that appeal to me, so they're going to have to wait for retail. I've gotta say though, the fact that a silhouette of shimmerscale has so much appeal speaks volumes.
Thoramel
That treefolk fellow is giving me some serious Babes in Toyland vibes. Which is giving me a campaign idea for use with the kid heroes from B5. Wonderful. 4
