A troglodyte king. If I'm remembering correctly, these are not in the Core Set, and are not in the Green Griffin expansion, but some other expansion.

A troglodyte minion to go with him.

Both of these troglodytes match the ones from Bones 4. Here they are all shown together.

Lastly, the first stretch goal map.

Edit:  Got on my computer to take a better screenshot.  Hopefully this one is a little higher resolution.

The Bones Core Sets always include a set of "bonus" minis from the last campaign.

  • Bones 2 had a selection of 6 different types of creatures from the orignal Bones
  • Bones 3 had the lizardfolk from Bones 2
  • Bones 4 had the goblins from Bones 3
  • Bones 5 had the kobolds from Bones 4

... and now Bones 6 has the zombies from Bones 5. So that's to be expected.

I think the Core Set looks like a decent core set thus far. There's what appears to be a small dragon there, as well as a dragon rider on a metallic dragon(which probably fits well with Dragonlance stuff?), and there's a cool dog handler. There's also someone sitting on a throne, and the tiefling belly dancer. Those are probably the ones that looks the most interesting to me. But the core sets are rarely the attention grabber for Bones kickstarters(unless you're new to collecting minis), in my experience. Thus far, this feels just like the Bones 5 core set did for me.

Some speculation:

  • 30k is Core Set(minimum funding level).
  • 55k is Green Griffin 1/5. Earlier, expansions have been divided into 3 stretch goals, this is divided into five. So I don't think it's a regular expansion.
  • 80k is Town Guard. These are the same designs as the two from Bones 4, but with new weapons and poses, which I really like. Either core set unlock or option.
  • 105k is "Painters' Picks". I don't think this is a set of paints, but a set of minis picked by Reaper's painters. I would assume this is an option.
  • 130k is Dawnseekers I. The name sounds like either an adventuring group, or a temple order(clerics, paladins, etc.). Definitely regular expansion based on the roman numeral.
  • 155k is Undead 1/5. Alright, so we've definitely got an undead "expansion" of sorts. This is likely where the new crypt comes in, as well.
  • 180k is Dreadmere I. We return to Dreadmere, which is the fishing town we also saw in Bones 4(had some very cool stuff!) This is definitely an expansion.
  • 210k is Blackmane Gnolls. Either core set increase or option.
  • 240k is Ant Infestation. Either core set increase or option.
  • 270k is Green Griffin 2/5. Second part of this set.
  • 305k is Sophies I. So, Sophie is one of Reaper's mascots. The roman numeral indicates this is a full expansion, and I assume it won't be just Sophie minis(though I guess it's possible, considering Reaper's made dozens of Sophie minis), but rather something like "Sophie's Favorites"(sort of like "Fan Favorites").
  • 340k is Men at Arms. Either core set increase or option.
  • 375k is Brinewind I. We return to the pirate town of Brinewind! Bones 5 also had a Brinewind expansion(as well as the Brinewind Extras set of terrain), both of which I think did really well. So another expansion.
  • 410k is Undead 2/5.

Okay, so I'm not sure if Undead and Green Griffin are actual expansions, in the typical Reaper Bones KS sense. Expansions have always had three parts, and have had roman numerals(like Brinewind, Dreadmere, and Sophies on this roadmap). I'm thinking these are some new "Expansion" thing that doesn't function quite like regular Expansions, sets of Core Set unlocks, or multiple Options that are connected.

My current theory is that they're "play sets". Like, big versions of the Bones 5 encounters, unlocking piece by piece. We know there's some big terrain in the Undead thing, with the new crypt(which is smaller than the old one, but still a decently sized piece). And the Green Griffin is the name of an inn. The two minis previewed for St. Patrick's Day, as well as the human barmaid, reinforces the tavern theme. So yeah, maybe it's like $100 expansions where everything is meant to go together, using both classic minis and terrain pieces? I would be 100% on board with that.

@Maredudd Your wish has been fulfilled!!!

The Halfling on a dragon is in there!

Does anyone knows if Bones VI will be manufactured in the USA?

Or are there still parts being made in China?

Assume Bones Black (China), though there might be a few Bones USA options.

@Guyra I think you’ve got the numbered things backwards. Green Griffin 1/5 and 2/5 are definitely an expansion. Same with Undead 1/5 and 2/5.

They said last night they’ve run some analytics on the funding speeds of past kickstarters, and purposely rejiggered the rates/funding values of things to provide more unlocks (hopefully happening more often) during the middle ‘slog’ of the campaign. In Bones 5 we were typically hitting one unlock per day (aside from the abysmal busts, which took more than two days to unlock).  They’re trying to reduce that slow-down. I don’t know if it will work, but it’ll be an interesting experiment. But that’s why the expansions are now broken into 5 parts instead of three.

The Dreadmere I, etc., I think is likely to be core set additions, like the Dreadmere Heroes to Bones 5’s core. Alternatively, I could see them being encounters, or add-ons of some other fashion.

It is a nice selection in the core set. Kind of similar in range to Bones 5 (the only one I have backed so far). The 4 adventurers, bog monster, gnomes, rat catcher, rogue, mountain lion (?) and the dog handler seem to draw my attention the most. Hopefully, in higher resolution there will be more attention grabbers 😉

I do agree that zombies are a bit of a downer. There are 4 repeats per sculpt. WIth kobolds it was only 2. I guess that's where a little miniatures engineering comes in handy.

I had a look through Core Set 5 and there were not that many group monsters to choose from. I kind of wish there were like 4 more sculpts for zombies, or even better 5 extra blight miniatures and those got added as bonus miniatures. They would also fit kind of snuggly with the fae expansion.

Also stoked about Dreadmere and Brinewind in stretch goals, those were always nicely themed miniatures.

Any other guesses on Dawnseekers?

Oh, yeah, a swarm of the woodling blight monsters would have been awesome!  WotC has loved putting Twig Blights in lots of their published adventures, and there'll often be up to a dozen of them.

I wouldn’t mind the zombies so much if they were better sculpts. But I bet just about everyone has more zombies than they need already. Twig Blight monsters are hard to come by. Have you seen the prices of Twig Blight mini’s in the PPM secondary market?

I’m guessing Dawnseekers is an old Warlord faction?

I hope that it is mostly US operations.  Given the current situation with Russian and China likely to support them, I have concerns as to how it could effect production on this project, among other things of course.

You can hope all you want. Ed clearly stated last night that won’t be the case.

See, I’m with you there. I’m not a fan of Putin’s hostilities and China is clearly allied with them. By throwing my money at Chinese manufacturers and the taxes they pay the CCM, I’m basically supporting Putin’s war efforts. It makes me sick to consider. I check the label on everything I buy these days. I’m not trying to be political, I just don’t want to support this Russian-Chinese aggression. And if China goes after Taiwan, I promise I’m not going to support this KS.

I love Reaper and will be at ReaperCon, as always.
