Yeah, I'm guessing that logistically it's just not feasible yet for Reaper to run off something like the numbers for a Kickstarter on the siocast printers they have - you're talking about thousands and thousands of each mini in the Core Set - there were over 18k pledged backers (not counting late backers who joined in the Pledge Manager) for Bones 5 - if each of them just bought one Core Set, that's almost 20k copies of each miniature in the Core, to account for slippage, failures, shipping losses, etc. Each of these Kickstarters involves molding millions of miniatures - on top of the minis that Reaper has to make every day for day-to-day operations (so they can't full-time commit their mold machines to KS fulfillment, because they have to print stuff to keep the store open and the lights on). So my guess is major Bones kickstarters like this one are going to involve someone helping with fulfillment for the predictable future - and right now, that's China, because that's where the vast majority of the mold machines are. 7 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Zombies are nice & always welcomed but yah this is also one thing I'm sure allot of DM/GMs have a bunch of (myself included). Since I didn't have my 3d printers when B5 was active, that'll factor into my interest in this one. Confused on a previous post, so they aren't going to break up the Core set into individual groups like previous KSes? I didn't mind that, beats what I paid for the latest Dungeon & Doggies KS (or tie-in, the Academy with the hound dog professor) shipping cost...ouch. crowsandbones Posted March 18, 2022 Share Posted March 18, 2022 After seeing the tease of the Bones 6 Core set last night, I was at first disappointed but as I look more at the spread of options I realize that a lot of holes in my collection would get filled up. The only zombies I have are those that came with Bones 5, and now I can have a proper horde! The bog monster is awesome, and the tiefling dancer girl too. Some of them are most likely to be painted and/or sold but I'm realizing now that I would use more than I first thought. I'm an aspiring new DM and probably because of that, this core set may serve me better than most. I had hoped for more new sculpts in the core set though if I'm being honest. My initial thought is that with the assumption of there being some kind of undead expansion (evidence: the skeletons revealed earlier in this thread and the bones 6 Emblem with the raven holding a bone) the zombies COULD have been lumped in with that, allowing some other... more desirable minis to come with the core set. Back for $1 or whatever the minimum is, and you'll have 'till the end of the year (or whenever the pledge manager closes) to make your decision. That goes for folks who feel intimidated by the upfront costs. $120 for Core is a bargain but not everyone can come up with that in one chunk. No worries, that wasn't aimed at you, or anyone else in particular; it was just a friendly reminder. I'm actually fairly impressed with the core preview so far. The zombies will come in handy for me, I DON'T actually have a whole lot of them. With a little bit of surgery, I'll have a horde of unique zombies.
