To be honest they nearly look as its children or two males that are fighting for the right to mate with the big female. Actually making the Blacksting the opposite gender than the two new wyverns works really well since sexual dimorphism, including size and slightly different scale shapes, is common enough in nature. Ants, not really my thing. But it's good that they made this. Now we only need a extra for bee folk so that we can make a regiment! 10

They look very similar to Julie Guthrie's 77688 Wyvern from...Bones 4? Very excited to have some matching Wyverns! I used the old one in an encounter before that had 2 other wyverns that I had to proxy. Glad I'll finally have some friends. They strike me as more primal and pack hunters. Also sad about the Werebear change. Feels a bit more generic now. Less character. Happy about the Ants though!

Sure personally I hope for exchangeable hands. But shield is less generic for a werebear than two axes! I don't think I saw a werebear with shield before.
Chris Palmer
Pledges have shot up a few hundred dollars in just the, approximately, 15 minutes since the ants were announced. 😄 13
Nunae
Love the two wyvern. I rarely have one monster fighting alone, and I bought two wyvern in Bones IV. One is painted, one will have to go under the knife soon to change it a bit. But having two with different (but complimenting) poses is ofc better.
Lidless Eye
I'm having a hard time telling how many variants there are in this set, combo of the angle and eye dilation early today I guess. 3 minutes ago, Chaoswolf said: The average sized ant colony can have between 100,000 and 500,000 workers. Blip
I know how we could have double axes and still sidestep the whole copyright issue... Build-a-Were-Bear! Oh wait, that's a while 'nother copyright issue.

If you're talking about the ants, I'm not seeing any variation. It looks like they all have all their feet on the ground, and all their heads tilted up at the same angle. Though, they don't look like they'd be at all difficult to bend the legs on, or slice and readjust heads to make variations. And it looks like the pledge total continues to roll upwards at a nice clip since the ant set was announced,. As was pointed out earlier, by @ksbsnowowl I believe, offeiring units is a great way to sell multiples of a set and raise totals. Talk about a TPK It looks to me like one sculpt and three camera angles, plus a couple of flipped images.

Looking at the STL I can very clearly see where the issue of copyright would come in, but it's still a shame. I prefer the two-axe look as well. I also like the single headed axe look of the original more than the double head. Still, more into the core is never a bad thing! Anything that helps tip new comers into the KS is welcome in my book. 2 hours ago, Inarah said: That looks like Bob and Julie's work. Hand sculpted green stuff? Amazing looking minis, dramatic poses, dragons (especially wyverns?) Yup, that's classic Guthrie!

This should give the Kickstarter a nice pledge injection. Dang. Bit disappointed we don't have another queen in there (I was going to de-wing it and use it for the soldiers and these as workers) but still happy for add on ants.

And that's before the bump in price if they're not Classic. (I'm an enabler) it's going to have to be beter tan 32% for me to get it though 😛 i have so many dungeon monsters already, that a expansion full of more common, basic beasties isn't really enticing. we'll see what goes into it
Cyradis
Real ants: gtfo of my house. Plastic ants: give me more! Okay not for me, I really have no interest. But it does make sense - if you are playing a game involving ants, it must be ANTS. Plural. Lots of ants. You don't get just a few ants. You get ALL THE ANTS. 11

Despite everyone else saying similar variations, it's this wording that's making me reconsider just getting one extra set. I normally don't field more than a dozen creatures at once, for sanity. But maybe ants are worth it...
