+1 liking this core set for the most part (though I'm also a +1 solid meh on the zombies)*. I skipped the core last time, but this is an improvement.

I'm actually fairly impressed with the core preview so far. The zombies will come in handy for me, I DON'T actually have a whole lot of them. With a little bit of surgery, I'll have a horde of unique zombies. Also, since they're zombies a few bad cuts and slightly wonky limbs wont look bad.

Exactly. I've been working on making alts and doing head swaps and weapon swaps on duplicate minis I have, just to give them different looks and poses. In a worst case scenario, I'd suggest selling, trading, or gifting unwanted duplicate minis to anyone who isn't in to doing conversions on Bones minis.

That is my way of thinking on supporting this KS as well. Bones 5 has pulled through Brexit & global pandemic, so Reaper is a solid company (real surprise for a company so many years on the market 😉). Could things go better with previous KS? Surely. I am EU based so got hit by both events in a way. Will there be any events influencing Bones 6? No idea. Do I think Reaper will do their utmost to deliver what promised if possible? Definitely.

On a different topic, I kind of missed info on St. Patrick's day head start for tavern dwarves. Those are really cool. So Green Griffin is definitely on my radar as a potential must buy. Also really looking forward to Fey Expansion teasers.

Hokay, so... just ruminating about Bones 6 and something occurred to me:

 

I went back to the Bones 5 Kickstarter page to look at the zombies that came in the core set and I completely forgot how big the Bones 5 Core Set actually was. It had... ready for it? 152 miniatures included.

 

Makes me wonder how much will get added to the Bones 6 Core Set and I bet that will change a fair few peoples minds about backing.

Well to be honest, right now I'm already stocking up on sunflower oil, flour, pasta, canned food etc, prices are going up fast now. 

Right now I haven' t seen a lot that I really want so far. Hoping for some cool undead during V there was talk about some Egyptian stuff maybe that will come now?

Probably wait for the add ons.

Somewhere around here, after Bones 5 got delayed because of the pandemic, I pointed this out:

Bones 1 had some issues, Reaper learned from them then adjusted for them in Bones 2.  Bones 2 had some different issues, Reaper learned from them and adjusted for them in Bones 3. Same for Bones 3 & 4.   Bones 5 came along, and just when it looked like Reaper had accounted for everything, BAM, along comes a Pandemic. 

What will Bones 6 bring about that Reaper hasn't planned for?  Alien invasion? Comet's tail turning people to dust?

I was kind of salty about the reveal last night. More than anything I think it was the 16 zombies just really getting to me. I hate those sculpts. Sure, they’re just filler, but they could have easily been something I liked the look of (Briarlings, gnolls, bugbears, Troglodytes, any other zombie sculpts).

After looking at the image with a bit better resolution, there are a few more things in it I like. Vodelis Winterhand is in it, I think, and there might be more than just 3 of the 25th anniversary mini’s in there. Here’s hoping they add Hecklemeyer in later on. 

I still find it interesting the stark contrast in the numbers of models I liked in the first Bones 5 reveal (20) versus this one (8). Not that I’m the bar against which Reaper’s KS planning is measured, but it definitely threw me for an unexpected loop.

So I got one set of extra zombies with Bones 5, and the extra set had two of one sculpt - leaving me with two of two sculpts, three of one sculpt, and just one of the last sculpt. (I know Reaper Support would absolutely fix this for me, but they had already sent me some replacement stuff, and I had missed this when going through my Bones 5 order, so I didn't feel like bothering them again.)

 

I did some head swaps, and it was really easy. The only one that took a bit of extra work was the woman, because of all that hair, so for her I swapped just the face. It was a little more work, but not that much. So I'll definitely be doing some more of that with the Bones 6 ones as well. Maybe even adding some small details on a few using random bits laying around here.

 I have not been able to find painters for those Tara & Domur minis. I think those were from origial RM marketing shots.

"Player character" minis are usually not what I personally look for(I prefer monsters, townsfolk, and terrain), but those are some cool minis! Especially Domur!

One more option that just came to my mind. Chop them a bit to lay them as flat as possible and you have counterpart dead bodies prior to being animated 😉

I’ve wanted Eli Quicknight for over a year. Saw him on a YouTube video, and couldn’t find him on the site. Asked on the discord, and learned he was a 25th anniversary mini, and currently unavailable. So I’m stoked he’s in the core set. 
 

Looking at the other 25th anniversary mini’s, it appears we got two others in Bones 5, and one was a Bones USA mini last summer. I recognize the Wizard with a mouse as well… but can’t place where from. Bones 4 maybe?

 Ah, nope. Darius the Wizard is also a Bones USA mini from 2021.

Weirdly Tara the Silent was also in Bones 5 with a Bow (and previous versions of her also made it Bones)



Same stretch goal also had a Female Wizard with Pseudodragon that was also an anniversary miniature previously, "Trista the Loremistress"
