I do not think that exclusive early bird backer figures is a good idea. Logistically an extra complication, and discouraging for those who miss it. *Maybe* a non-figure sort of thing that makes people feel good but isn't going to trigger resentment. Probably not worth it.

I don't think any early bird exclusives are a good idea, either.

Need to find something that incentivizes early pledging, but doesn't breed too much resentment, and also doesn't make logistics any harder. It's a fine line.  That's why a modest shipping credit came to mind - not enough that some people wind up with free shipping, but not so little it doesn't incentivize.

Another idea could be something that delivers electronically that everyone gets, but first day/week backers get soon after the campaign ends, while everyone else has to wait until the pledge manager closes.

Or maybe the incentive should be for everyone who backs BEFORE the last 24-48 hours.

I like that they're showing up front that he's on a 3" base. Also, here's that badass sculpt again. SEXY!

Charondar.JPG

And I just realized that the 1" base pack they're adding is "approximately 50 bases"! That's huge!

Ok, his name really should just be Chonkodar the Cruel...   😄

I like that this forum community seems to stay (mostly) positive. Moreover, I like that there seems to be a concerted effort to find productive solutions. It feels rare. Perhaps I’ve just been hanging out in the wrong forums.

While I’m personally thrilled with the core set, I think an initial offering of some big add-on could have driven more early pledges. Even one with a distant stretch goal. Like “here’s the core, and at US$1million we’ll unlock this gargantuan Gnomish Zeppelin!” Give backers an immediate big ticket item to want, they’ll talk their friends into pledging.

I like the suspense of hidden goals, but the carrot/stick thing only works if the donkey can see the carrot.

Yes, I realize I am the donkey in this analogy. Hee-haw, y’all.

Thanks… now I really want a gargantuan Gnomish Zepplin. *sad Gnome face*

I have never bought nor painted a Reaper Dragon. I like Chonky; he's at a great price point and available as an add-on, he's a nice size--big without being intimidating to paint. He might just be "the one" for me.

EDIT: she's a girl and her story is great! She also ties into the Hakir/Egyptian set, so hopefully the treasure chest in her story is part of that set. Scattered encounters for all!

A Gnomish Zeppelin would be amazing, even if it wasn't gargantuan.  Even a One-Gnome Blimp would be great, especially if the basket could hold any figure rather than just having the pilot be part of the sculpt.

Yes! A gnomish sky-navy entire! Battleblimp, scout balloons, artillery dirigibles. I think I've found my next overly-ambitious building project...

Dang, Ron just verified that the chonky dragon Chaarondar is on a four-inch base! They'll update the page. Proctor showed off a test print that he is painting up, and that thing is MASSIVE.

I like Chonky. I think I’ll be adding her to the choices. Though, I seriously doubt that those wings could support her mass.

She's propelled forwards by magic and hate. And maybe the village she just ate. Your puny mortal physics don't intimidate her!
