Question April 13th.

What is your favorite miniatures tabletop game?

Whatever gets people around the table and having a good time.  I have enjoyed -- with friends -- playing Warhammer fantasy, and Reaper Warlord, and a handful of other games I've forgotten the names of.

BattleTech is good, but Heavy Gear pulls me more.

But my favourite game has snipers, mischief makers, aliens, werewolves, and most importantly a MURDER SCORPION (Maghariba Guard).  Yeah, this fox looooove Infinity.

Is Infinity purely a SciFi miniatures game?  It got mentioned on Anne’s stream. Something about tiny miniatures…?

What scale do they claim it is—if they make such assertions?

It's a 28mm skirmish game.  The figures tend to be less chunky and some are downright delicate looking.  There are many examples on the web.

7TV Fantasy by Crooked Dice Games.  The concept is based on the idea that the game is representing a movie or TV episode being made/shown.  It's use of Act cards throws random events into the mix each turn which means that two games using the exact same opposing Casts (armies) on the exact same table setup will not have the same results.  I have lost at least 3/4 of the games I've played, and have still had a blast every time.

There is also a Pulp and Apocalypse version available.

Biggest downside is that it's not easy to find Crooked Dice games or minis in the US, as they're a UK company.  I'll be bringing it with me to ReaperCon if anyone wants to have a demo game.

Wait, we're supposed to play with the minis???

I've got a lot of minis that go to games, but honestly I've never played them, with the exception of D&D. I've got Warmachine/Hordes, Malifaux, Alchemy, Warlord, Confrontation, and more. I've never played any of them. No one to play with, and no game store close enough to justify the drive there. Maybe one day.

Perhaps the new job will permit me to save up money and vacation days for ReaperCon next year (or after) and some of you nice people can help rectify this.

There are a number of delicate ones, especially for PanOceania.  To add on to this, I would say they follow more realistic proportions for their figures, yet somehow manage to cram a good amount of detail into the minis.

Pretty much purely SciFi, doubly so with the recent five year advance N4 brought about, and Ariadna - colonists who were presumed lost (and dead) when a portal/gate thing collapsed/closed over a century ago - finally has space faring capabilities again.  Mmm, space murder bear (forgot what they're called) to go alongside the murder wolves (antipodes, but may as well be werewolves.  Fast, stabby, slicy werewolves.  Many of which who LOVE shotguns).

They definitely are tinier compared to others that use heroic proportions, but on the plus side heavy infantry really do look like they're wearing heavy armour.

Question April 11th.

Scalecreep, something we all have seen, do you mix minis like true 25mm/28mm/heroic scale/32mm in one unit/warband/group?

Or do you keep them all in exactly the same scale?

prefer to keep them to the same size, sometimes can't avoid mixing. Much easier to keep sizes consistent with 3d printing though...

Question April 12th

Oversized weapons, yes or no?

Technically Yes, but more practically this is due to the exageration inherent in miniatures, so as long as the weapon isn't stupidly oversized and fits with the mini in question it's fine by me.

Been a long time since I answered any questions so I'll do a few at once.

I try to keep them similar in size especially if they're supposed to be a unit. I'm not super fussy and will use things that are mismatched somewhat especially in skirmish games. I do often base short minis on thick bases and big ones on thing bases to balance wierd matches a bit.

Depends on how over sized. Most minis have chunky weapons just because of making them viable for production. Surf board sized swords, no. Bolters and other weapons that would be ginormously unusable in reality are ok.

Hard to pick one so I'll do this by category

Fantasy skirmish Frostgrave/Rangers of Shadowdeep.

Fantasy big battles Armies of Arcana..

Big stompy robots Battletech.

Micro armour WW2 Blitzkrieg Commander.

Those four have given me literally hundreds of hours of playing.

QUESTION APRIL 14th.

Did you ( or would you like to) paint /convert a mini to resemble a real life or movie character?

If you did show us..

This is NOT a subliminal message to make you join WOOF or donate to the glorious leader.. Really it's not, just keep thinking that.

I wouldn’t.

I have not even tried the easy, obvious one where a simple weapon swap (to piano wire) results in a lightsabre wielding space hero.

I got nuthin’

If I could find a spare Grey GW Wolf I might have a go at a glittery canid.  I have one of those somewhere.
