Yes.
I like unit fillers.
And I despise the guardians of purity and gatekeepers of wargaming who see fit to denounce unit fillers.

Sure.
I am a proponent of individually based, happy little trees, among other things.

Watch this space, I guess. I am beset by problems that could prevent the making of pictures.

No worries:

G.R.F.F.N Corollary to Rule 16: If the red dot is controlled by someone’s hand, chomp it.

As I'm not a gamer I don't have much use for terrain, but I have painted up a few bits that came in some of my Guild Ball sets.

It's been barely a year since I started to do basing on some of my minis. Never mind armies, I've never done anything larger than a few random Battletech mechs.

I suspect W.O.O.F has been infiltrated. There is no such thing as a RED, nor GREEN, dots.

Only joyful BLUE, YELLOW, and amusing shades of gray, exist.

I'm not sure what a "Unit Filler" is.  Is it something for games with ranked troops and movement trays?  I enjoyed having and making scatter terrain though, back when I actively played games.

Not quite sure what a unit filler is.

I play Infinity, the common joke is 90% of the board is scatter terrain, so I suspect I have some, but nowhere near enough 😛

That would probably be my crashed Aquila Lander.  I don't have pics handy on my phone, but thankfully I do have a thread...

What red dot?  We don't know about any red dots... (psst, Bruce, turn the laser pointer off, they think our testers are actually chasing it)

For non-ranked gamesI prefer differences in pose between minis

For games with ranked units I prefer minor differences so they aren't identical, but posed in such a way that they'll rank up

Trying to get some of the units I’ve done ranked up has been a challenge.

This is more or less what I was going for:

For some periods, I’m pretty happy with lots of identical figures:

Yes & no.

When I was an historical gamer long ago there were no such things as unit fillers.

Twenty years ago I had the begins of a Night Goblin army. To give them a suitably nuts look I had the Little Loonies mixed with some relatively large mushrooms. The Goblins were under them, around them, on top of them:

AND I have lots of Mushrooms, Trees, buildings, & such for interesting settings/backgrounds.

I do use scatter terrain. Everything from detailed stuff like some of Reaper's offerings, down to hunks of foam insulation carved into a shape of a hill and thrown on the table. And everything in between. Most of it isn't very good, but it's just there to mark stuff on the gaming table so it doesn't have to be nice at all. Especially since it's going to get frequently handled by sticky fingers.

Here's a piece I threw together recently. I had some sculpting stuff left over from another project and made them into some vaguely mushroom shaped pieces, slapped some paint on it, glued them down with some bits of rock, flocked it and it's ready to get thrown on the table. Like I said, not very good. But I had fun making it and that's all that really matters.

Report to the Rehabilitation Center? This sounds like you're trying to herd cats. And I have to tell you, that never goes well.

For those that don't know, a unit filler is something you use fill up a unit of troops to the proper size.  For example, if your unit of archers is supposed to be 20 strong, but you've only got 17 guys and dont want to buy any more, you could make some kind of little mini diorama relevant to a group of archers and stick it in the middle of your archers to make the unit take up the right amount of space on the battlefield. This is mostly important in Warhammer style rank and file battle games where a unit's size matters.

To answer the question,  yes I do.

And yes I do.

If i can find any of mine,  I'll post pictures.

(Haven't been playing any games, so haven't prioritized unpacking that type of thing)

I don't play but still like to rank my armies like they should, Unit fillers are small vignettes/diorama like pieces or a large animal/monster where you can fill a unit out to a bigger size using them.

For example, a unit filler on a 40mm base counts as 4 minis.

I love them here is a regiment with an Undead Cyclops as a filler for my mixed Undead Regiment.

And my latest fillers I made for upcoming Undead forces.

I haven't used a unit filler yet, but I actutally don't play any of the rank & file games that I buy minis for. I should really change that.

As for scatter terrain, I've made some for D&D use (random columns, braziers, etc), but I gave them away to my brother, as he has a group that he plays on/off with. I'm always looking for new stuff to make from the random crud I save.

The last time I played with movement trays we didn't use fillers.  If you didn't have enough of the right figures you couldn't field a full unit, simple as that.

I like scatter terrain, both large and small pieces.  It's a pain to transport for games though.  I've been scratch building and trash bashing sci-fi terrain but don't have pics yet.  The last photo I took was a hedge worth of the Wall of Thorns:

DSCN2752.jpg.39725b3574bb76e45970ccac7199bc3e.jpg

That's about half of what I got in the KS.

The only scatter terrain that I really have is whatever I got from the FLGS when it closed down.
