Tbh, I'm not exactly sure where to put this question.

I need to convert (well I guess this answers my first sentence....:poke:) the Spirit of Autumn metal mini. She has a bowl & I need make it empty. Curious as to what drill bit for Dremels would be the best to do this with?

 Definitely a round cutter/engraver...

(I use them for about 90% of my metal conversion work (that doesn't involve a cutting wheel) since I have strong enough hands to be able to do fine detail work while holding a Dremel.)

Is she a one-piece figure? If you're going to have limited angles of approach when grinding out the contents of the bowl, that's going to affect the size of the bit you use. Otherwise go for a fairly large one to do the basic gruntwork in the interest of speed, then use a smaller bit for the cleanup.

Those round cutters can clear a lot of material in one pass with even just a little pressure, so be careful when getting anywhere close to anything you want to keep intact - particularly that left hand.

Depending on how steady your hand is, and your budget, I would consider (read: resign) yourself to just buying two of this model. It would probably be less of a headache to just empty the bowl and remove the left arm completely, and then separate the left arm from the second miniature.

Or, if you have the knowhow, just cast yourself a new left arm with a greenstuff mold of that part of the body.

It'll be 4 of them, so it'll be allot of carving. I tend to use a small ball cutter bit, but I thought I'd ask here if the other bits were better. They'll be statues, so if I mess up, it'll add "age & deterioration" to the statues.

"Four identical statues in the corners surrounding a brazier, each feeding a river of blood to the brazier. The brazier itself glows with a unearthly green fire. Inside the fire is a object........"

Just something for one of my ReaperCon games this year. Which one, we'll if you wanna find out, you'll have to play or get ahold of me at the Con.

Well it appears that no one local has the right bit or anything that is close (I'm assuming supply chain problems), so I'll be ordering from my favorite tool shop online - Widget Supply over on the western side of OR. I'll most likely get a small bit as well. Also, probably some other random stuff might find it's way into the cart, whoa is me, :poke:
