What if anything do you listen to while painting? have any recommendations for the rest of us?

Local radio 80's rock station or my collection of new age CDs.  Recommend that you listen to whatever you like, something that relaxes you so you can enjoy the process.

Generally, I like to use painting time to catch up on gaming podcasts.  Occasionally the painting will get intense enough that I have to rewind, but most of the time it’s ok.  If it’s not that, it’s one of my music playlists — early, baroque, or folk, for the most part.

If the Cardinals are on, listen to them, otherwise I'll find some easy jazz.

I'll usually listen to music or a movie I've seen. As of late I've been listening to either people painting, sewing, or doing jigsaw puzzles on YouTube.

Last night I kind of got talked into helping someone try and find recordings of a show they had seen a long time ago that is now mostly unavailable, so...

May 3:

Is there any sort of lost media you're still looking for? Old TV shows? Songs you can't find recordings of? Missing books? That one issue of a magazine that was the only source for rules for a really cool out of print mini? Tell us about it.

I remember your motto well: "If it's not metal, it's [email protected]!"

So I'm guessing plastic and polka is out of the question?

How about resin and reggae? SiOcast and show tunes?

I have collected a few old miniature catalogues and magazines in digital form now.

Would love to have more from the Harbinger series and similar magazines.

Funny you should mention it...I just ordered a copy of Mark Twain Tonight! from BAM. I lost my copy when I moved to Texas twelve years ago.

There's a book for the old Star Wars Saga Edition RPG called The unknown regions, it's the last one printed in the series and the last that I need to complete my collection. Kicking myself for not buying it when it was available way back when, and now the price for it is ludicrous.

There's a lot of old second edition D&D stuff I'd like to be able to get ahold of.

Also, finding digital copies of bands i used to listen to back when I was a kid; I've lost some of my old tapes,  and the march of time has taken its toll on others.

I don't get too nostalgic, but I do have a full set of 1st and 2nd ed AD&D books, heh. I've downsized a ton of stuff (small house) but those are too precious (most of my old gaming group is dead, so it's one of my few mementos).

Along those same lines, I have a few old rehearsal tapes from my band that I'd like to digitize at some point. We did a transfer of our multitrack demo years ago, but the tapes are years later and more representative of what we were doing closer to the end of our career. Of course, I do not own a tape player, and hesitate to spend money on a single-use item (once they're transferred, I'll never need another cassette player again).

Depends on my mood. I listen to just about everything but pop country stuff. So it could be just about anything when I'm in the mood for music. Though I will say that @CashWiley's suggestion of The Budos Band is a really good one, upbeat enough to keep me painting and with a lot of good brass, which I typically enjoy.

When I'm not in the mood for music there's a few podcasts I listen to. Mostly gaming related, but there's a few journalist produced podcasts that work to debunk a lot of modern conspiracy nonsense that I really enjoy. If you are a DM, I highly recommend The Dungeoncast. It's 2 dorks sitting around discussing a single 5E monster, place, class, deity, or whatever and cracking jokes about it on a weekly basis.

I would love to get my hands on some of the music from a bunch of the local punk bands I grew up with. I used to have a lot of stuff on tape and CD but it seems to have disappeared over the years. And unfortunately, these being small time local bands, some of it may no longer exist.
