Drybrushing layers of various mixes of Earth Brown and Linen White.  Straight Linen White for the exposed bones.  Dragon Blue in the eyes.

Hoping for a Great Horned Owl coloration.

Russet Brown, Creamy Ivory and Golden Shadow.

 

Mixed 1:1 Russet Brown:Driftwood brown for the raised areas, but it’s too subtle.  This is blocking in highlights stage, not “fur drybrush” yet.

This is through 2:1 Driftwood:Russet, and also after 3:1 Driftwood:Russet.

Drybrushed with Driftwood Brown

 

Washed with diluted Agrax Earthshade.

Picked out highest fur with Driftwood Brown with a little Linen White.

 

Linen White on the white parts.

 

Golden Skin on those accent parts.

Done for today.  Still want a little Dragon White on the white parts.

Finshed up the Owlbear.  Hopefully I can finish Almaran in a week and leave some time for Q2 quarterlies.

Started Almaran.  Done with face and hair, blocked in blue accents, and washed.

One layer added to blue.  Added the steel basecoat.

2 layers of slightly thinned 1:1 Chestnut Gold:Palomino Gold.

The amount of work now required to finish this guy’s NMM now seems daunting, and I’m not sure I’ll pull it off by May 31.  Lining, shading/highlighting, and getting better coverage.  It’s a lot.

Lining.  1:1 Nightshade Purple:Bruised Purple, with a little “Lining Mix” to help “write with the brush.”  So many hard to reach spots behind the shield.

Made the executive decision to change to this guy from Bones I to try to blast him through for May PC.  Modified his weapon to look like a scimitar, and shortened the handle.  The pommel is too big as sculpted, but oh well.
