Scale 75 - More artist tubes of paint

Scale 75 is expanding their line of artist tube paint and inks. More general colors, some more specialized inks (apparently matte ink), and fluorescent paint tubes - that actually glow under black light.

Bonus for folks who have previously backed their Kickstarters too.

Expected delivery October 2022....  Yeah, that's a hard pass for me right there.  What is it with all these paint companies shipping when things are cold, or picking timeframes that are borderline safe but even a month of delay plummets half the northern hemisphere into winter with freezing cold temperatures?

(I'll also playfully add the last time a company put their Kickstarter up in mid may and swore up and down initially it would indeed be October fulfilment has barely started shipping things over half a year later)

Hadn't realized their inks were matte, but for $60 I can almost buy 12 bottles of FW ink which are larger and wont take a few months to get fulfilled..

The already existing inks aren't, they're glossy. Apparently these new ones will be matte. Plus tubes of new colors of their creamy stuff. Interesting that they're doing both inks and tube paint in the same KS.

My issue with this is that Scale 75 has HORRIBLE shipping fees. It hurts that the 12 pack of paints for 40euro will have like 25euro for shipping. That's major ick. I get that shipping is difficult, but still. It is 8-12 euro for a figure from Ignis (Poland), in an envelope/box that could easily hold that much paint. Paint has more weight but not *that* much weight for a 12 pack.

Do you think they'll offer Kimera color set on discount through the pledge manager?  They say they'll offer more paint sets on there.

Why would they offer Kimera's paint? That's by an entirely different manufacturer in a different country. They're a competitor who just ran a separate paint & figures Kickstarter.

Scale 75 makes multiple lines of paint. Often their Kickstarters to expand lines open discounted rates on already existing paint to backers in the pledge manager. They make artist tubes, inks, a gaming style line, an ultra matte gel based line, specialized metallics, a historical set, an oils set, and a sci-fi set.

@Cyradisi didn't know it's a different company.  It's listed on their website, so i thought it was scale 75 with a sub line or something.  Guess i can hope it's discounting their site.

Ah - they might have a deal in their shop to sell some in collaboration. A few places do sell it second-hand. I'd sincerely doubt it as part of the pledge manager though; Kimera paint sells out regularly. Kimera's own shop ends up with long waits while they restock, making more paint, as do their secondary vendors. If Scale 75 had to wait on them during Kickstarter fulfillment, they'd be asking for delays, I think.

I can clear this confusion up - The Kimera Kolors paints are only available via the Scale 75 USA site, not on the usual Spanish site. The owners of Kimera in Italy are friends with the owners of Scale75 in Spain. Scale75 sometimes does casting for Kimera, the Kimera guys also often paint boxarts for Scale75 and so they have a deal with the USA branch of Scale 75 to act as a US distributor for Kimera Models for both their paints and figures; they are also US distributors for Aradia Miniatures who Scale 75 & Kimera are also friends with.

"Competitor" isn't always accurate in the world of miniatures, there are communities within and a lot of them are friendly and even collaborative with each other.
