Neyuttad
When you swap weapons on paper you also have to do it on your models? I mean in tournament and events, is that a requirement? WYSIWYG thingy?
Storminator
When you swap weapons on paper you also have to do it on your models? I mean in tournament and events, is that a requirement? WYSIWYG thingy? Yup. Obviously you don't need to model internal mods, like the TL and ECM computers or breeders. I've heard both ways about armor upgrades, but I prefer not to model them. I am painfully aware of my skill with green stuff... PS
KAMUT
So its called the Cutlass, excellent. I like that name much better, and so shall it be called in our fluff. Yeah, What you see is what you get, So model any physical changes you make on your models. I'm yet to use the flail, but I've had my eye on that C14 IFM for a long while, thinking about swapping the FA45 on the Dingo whenever it comes out. I try to keep my swaps within the same two UCORs (SyRAM or Mitso Ta), but in the case of Hughes Marietta, I'll make a few exceptions. Thats one thing to look at when you go modding things, look within the same UCOR before you go shopping outside of it. Chances are you might find something compareable and cheaper, or possibly a different way to get simular usage. Swaps within the same UCOR, the points are adjust by multiplying 1.2, if you shop outside of that UCOR, you multiply the points by 1.5; its a little more pricey. I recommend you play a few games stock to develop your personal taste, then make your mods based on the tactics you emphasize.

I am painfully aware of my skill with green stuff... PS Don't mess with Green Stuff. Just cut some thin plastic card into plates and glue it on to the mini before priming. Also, you don't have to cover the whole mini. With the CAV game's "Priority Armoring" assumption, you only have to put a few plates around on the mini to add some detail. When painting, you can then highlight the new plates so they can be seen. Or, like me, just do a normal paint job. From 3' to 4' away, you can't see the extra plates then. Comes in handy if you don't have the points to spend on armor upgrade that game. Sheet plastic is made by Squadron and Evergreen. These are the only two that I know of. Anyone else? FPilot
Or recycle your old credit cards when the new ones come along. Just take a pair of strong scissors and chop them apart, then peel away the coating layers (front and back). Discard the embossed parts, after chopping them to tiny pieces so nobody can put them back together if they go through your garbage. What you're left with is useful for applique armor, bulkheads, laminate material for building weapon pods, and so forth.
