June 9th QotD:

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?

May 25th 1977, and attend the original Star Wars premiere. I really want to see an unbiased crowd's reaction. And again a few weeks later when it became the mega success we know it as.

Not sure about a specific year, but late bronze age/early iron age has always interested me.  So much cool stuff developing during that period.

I would go back to meet a young Ed and Dave Pugh, where together we would create the nascent Reaper Miniatures. This is probably the easiest way to eventually become @Reaper Ron's boss.

Ooh, how about going to just a few years ago to get OOP paints?

That or save the dodo or passenger pigeon from extinction. There might be a crispy dodo breast burger business opportunity right there.

Little early today, but since I'm still up,

June 7th Question of the Day:

What is your largest miniature? Smallest? Is it painted?

Smallest, Aeronef (1/1200 approx scale) triplane - not painted
Largest, Kaladrax, "painted" by my eldest children when they were probably 3 and 4

That would depend on the rules under which the time travel was being undertaken....

Pirate ship, hands down. Unpainted.

Smallest is probably a familiar from one of the familiar packs.

I don’t think I would. All the periods I’m interested in would probably burn me as a witch.

Under my generous rule, there would be no OOP paints.

I think your misrule would be far better than that of Lord High Over-Emperor Pendrake (and his Dreaded Inquisition).

That will SOON™ be my revised answer.

June 10th QotD:

On a scale of 1-10, how strict are/were your parents?

By today's standards, pretty far off the scale.  At the time, it varied depending on the age and activity, but about average I'd say.

Strict?  Hard to say, since so many things fluctuate.  For the time, reasonably average I'd say.

We won't comment on the sheltering effect though.

3 or so. By the time I was 8 I was pretty much self sufficient & well on my way towards the crazy Old Man I am today.

I'll give this one an 8, 'nuff said.

Point of order here:

Is this where 1 is strict and 10 is anything goes yippies ? …or does 10 represent ruthless stricture?
