What type of cuisine would you serve your customers if you own a five-star restaurant?

I am one of the original hangout folks, along with Guindy and Buglips....

Still on the hangout most nights from 8pm to 1030ishpm EST...

.

We used to choose a hangout mini of the month, where a group of folks would paint the same mini...

It was great to be able to ask each other what the heck this thing on his belt!!!! and just discuss colors, ideas etc...

I also did some very basic airbrushing classes live on the hangouts after setting up times in advance...

Well, since it would have to be in the town I currently reside in, because I’m sick of moving, it’ll have a to fill a niche here.

There is a lack Greek/proper Mediterranean food here, as well as Indian food. So I’d probably do something like that. Hire a couple of grannies from those food cultures, set them up with a nice staff, and let them work their magic.

Have you used a airbrush before? Own? What kind? Any tips?

Yup, started out with a cheap [1980s price cheap] no-name, then used a Paasche for 20 years and added a Badger a couple years ago. Tips? Start slow with a generally larger piece the first few time you use it.

I may have used an airbrush once or twice...  I own two, eventually will own a few more.

At present I own a VigiArt something or other (currently has a 0.5mm needle in it) and a MadWorks 0.3mm.  Eventual plan is to also pick up a Grex TG5 and TG3.

My biggest tip is if you're going to mix in the cup, thinner goes in first.  Also, get a tanked compressor, you'll have much more consistent air pressure.

Yes.

Yes, and I still own it/them.

Badgers.

Thinning down tube Acrylic to shoot through an airbrush might be a bad idea.

A cheap Sears brand air compressor with no tank might be a bad idea.

Lack of a moisture trap or a pressure regulator might be a bad idea.

Using those particular airbrushes again might be a bad idea, for one thing, the O-rings have probably crumbled to dust by now. They’d be at least 40 years old, Badger didn’t make O-rings in the late 70s or early 80s that would last 40 years did they?

No, I haven't.

N/A.

There's always been some obstacle or other keeping me from getting an airbrush.

Maybe one of these days.

I'm old fashioned I want to paint with a brush.

For me it's too much cleaning and adjusting etc...

No worries at all.  I ask because I'm always curious the reasons for such things.  There definitely is a decent amount of cleaning involved!

I got one for Christmas a few years back with a compressor. It's an Iwata, I think. I haven't been able to convince my dad to let me set it up in his shop and we don't have proper ventilation in the house, so I haven't used it yet. The big reason I wanted one was for big projects, like mountains and trees and other terrain. I'm trying to save the environment, one rattle can at a time. I don't know if I will ever do smaller minis with it.
