I like good surprises, not the kind that dang near give you a heart attack or lose sleep over. Freebies on a purchase? Good. Finding out your base pay rate increased because the company raised everyone up? Very likeable. High medical bills because someone didn't enter do your insurance right? Dislike. Paying for something to find out the bank canceled your debit card due to "suspicious activity" and didn't inform you? Dislike-bordering-on-fury.

Just use it for kitchen purposes. No one likes to clean burnt on sticky stuff from a baking sheet. And getting a cheesecake off the base of a spring form pan without it is an exercise in futility.

Typically no. If it's a bad surprise there's all manner of anxiety. And even good surprises can cause a little stress. Maybe I'm boring, not being into surprises and all. But that's okay if it means not being stressed out.

Like others have said, it depends on the surprise and how expected it is.  Auto accident or dead computer, not a good surprise.  Birthday party or visits from friends, much more acceptible surprise.

When it comes to surprises, I prefer to be the giver rather than the receiver.

I’m not fond of surprises. Even pleasant ones stress me out. Surprises I like wholeheartedly are ones that cause me no additional work and give me some kind of benefit.
