June 6th Question of the Day:

1944, Normandy, France. If you don't know what day this in history, please look it up.

Did you have family involved in this day in 1944?

No, my father was too young.  My wife's teacher was a Lt. in the Army.  He is now 103 and still alive.

My grandparents were too old and my father was the oldest and older than my Uncles on my mother's side.

My grandfather on my mothers side was in an armored division. He told me sorts of stories about it, but he didn't discuss combat very much.

My grandmother on my mothers side was in the French resistance, but again she didn't talk about it.

Largest is definitely the pirate ship from bones 5. One of the three I got has paint on it. But it is not fully painted. The smallest I've got is probably one of the cats from the Edna, Crazy Cat Lady miniature. It is painted.

Smallest: (Individually spoken although technically a swarm)

I'll go with the 1/100 Kshatriya resin kit that's still in the box, since the binders on it are absolutely huge.  Beyond that, it's probably the CAV Dictator B, that's also still in the box...

Smallest is probably a half ling, and most of those I have painted - and finished - in a few different ways.  I think I've painted the LTPK gnome rogue at least twice now...

The largest that I have is the pirate and, barring that, probably Ma'al Drakar. I think the smallest is  the Marmalade angel cat that @OneBoot painted for me.

The pirate ship and/or Ma'al Drakar.

The smallest are a couple 15mm Aztecs that I painted up like the Brownies from Willow.

The big ones aren't painted, the little ones are.

Largest: It used to be Kaladrax, rivalled by Ma'al Drakar. Now it's most certainly the pirate ship. Largest I have that's actually painted would be Ebonwrath.

Smallest: Not sure about the absolute smallest. There are quite a few familiars that fit the bill. Smallest painted, I think are my Bones 1 rats.

Largest is the Ghost Ship.  I consider it painted with no paint on it.  (Glow in the Dark)

Smallest is a Buzzard.  It is not painted also.

Surprisingly, the answer to both is likely "a spaceship"

The biggest is either and imperial guard Valkyrie, or an enforcer fighter. I can't remember which is bigger.

Now the smallest is definitely a single vesk fighter I made for starfinder.

I'll try and get a picture of them together when I get home.

June 7th Question of the Day:

At some point, 'miniature' gets pretty weird. Why spend $150 on a dragon when I can snag a $5 dinosaur 😛 That said, my largest scale figure is a 1/6th scale die-cast Iron Man mkII with lots of articulation (Hot Toys). It's an unpainted mk so it's awesome for visualizing light on armor! Fairly posable for drawing/painting reference, as well. I guess he could be a titan in a game some day...

Smallest is a rat (not giant rat) I sculpted back in 2014 after Reapercon when I was trying to level up my basing skills. If Schubert is still teaching sculpting classes, definitely check those out! The rat is still unpainted, never finished the mini I was going to put him on. He's tiiiiny, as I did him to fit miniature scales.

Largest is probably Ma'al which is in a state of half painted. Not sure what the smallest thing I have is. Whatever it is it's probably not painted.

It depends on what you consider a miniature to be.  Terrain pieces would be the ruined Pirate Tavern & S. White's Drug Consortium H.Q. both are around 2' in height. S. White's is painted. Figure-wise I guess the Reaper Jabberwocky would be the largest. It isn't painted...yet.

The smallest probably is the Rebel Miniatures/Dark Haven Monk at 0mm in height; I have painted this little guy multiple time with quite a few more to do; he is an character that appears periodically with other minis & terrain pieces. I received a few sample 10mm minis from SpellCrow that I haven't attempted...yet.
