wizard 77054 Galladon, Human Wizard

Hello All,  

 

Here is a recently completed 77054 "Galladon, Human Wizard".   I did have to make changes to the staff.  I could not straighten it out by any means to my satisfaction.  So, I cut off the original staff, drilled a hole in his hand and replaced the Bones bendy plastic staff with a brass rod.  I cut off the bottom and top of the plastic staff, pinned the parts to the brass rod and there you go.

Beautiful. The beard, the face, the cloth, the freehand….all great. I made these same mods to mine, but never got around to painting it.

Great work. I have modified or replaced a lot of the weapons on the original Bones for just this reason in similar fashions.

I want to know how the hell you did that scroll. I can barely see the fine lines you got on the writing!

dam that's good, the paint job is SO clean and sharp, yet perfectly blended.  From my skill level,  this wizard looks is like a magic trick to me.

Great paintjob.  This figure has a much more detailed and readable face than any Bones figure I own.  Is it from one of the later Bones series?  I guess the sculpt details improved over time?

I have attached a photo of the brush and the paint used to do the writing on the scroll.  An Army Painter "Character" brush and lightly thinned Vallejo "Hull Red."

This is the part that jumped out to me the most, as well. I really liked it.

 

Also, literally EVERYTHING about this mini greatly impressed me. The smooth blending, the scroll, the face, it's absolute perfection.
