My opinion is that the base would look good with treasure on it but those gems are way to large for the scale.   I would either find smaller gems or use 1 gem and build a centerpiece or pedestal for it (look up the grenadier dragon of the Month series 1 for example)   in scale those gems are almost the size of a man's torso so even a dragon would.gove them some respect.

My suggestion  anyway,   I like the dragon,  white is a hard color and I think you pulled it off well.

I agree with this.

Maybe use some treasure chests/crates, use some clay or putty and push a ballpoint ( with the pen retracted) in that to create coins. build a pile, put the chests here and there and then maybe one of those gems as a centerpiece, if you have any 10mm / 6mm figs paint them gold or silver as statuettes etc etc.

There are some very beginner-friendly sculpting putties out there. Green stuff is the usual go-to (and easy to find), but Aves Apoxie is another good one that I like.

I encourage you to give a little sculpting on the base a try. I'm am not at all talented in that area, but have discovered that for a lot of really basic things, it's not that hard to do a decent job if you're willing to take your time. And it's very empowering! You really feel like you've reached a new milestone in your hobby when you realize you can create things you want for your mini -- be it treasure or hair or scales to help cover a bad join -- and it will actually look good. Give it a go!
