77289 Mousling Ranger And Yeoman | First completed mini!

I recently got into miniature painting, and the Mousling Ranger & Yeoman was my first completed mini! 🙂
Because I didn't have a base in the size I needed, I sculpted the base using cardboard and milliput. I then added orchid bark, grass and flower tufts, and long grass flock.
The biggest mistake that I made while painting these was not thinning out my paint enough. Or at all… 🙃  While I was able to get fairly thin layers without water or a medium, there were a few spots that had some awful texture. Lessons learned.
And while I can see that there are some things that I definitely need to improve on, I don’t think it is really all that bad for my first mini.

That's a pretty amazing first effort, and the work you've put into the base really finishes the model off nicely. As somone who should probably thin his paints more I can't see too much wrong with the little rodents. Welcome to the forum and keep 'em coming.

You did well. Nailing the right consistency for your paints just takes some experience. You'll soon get a feel for it...no worries.

These guys look great. You've done a wonderful job picking out the details and your base adds a nice sense of scale for these little guys. Welcome!
