Spartan6
It's just a general gaming convention. Hopefully lots of different stuff in it.

TheBachelor
Okay, I did research, and I found 2 RubiCons. The first is a data security networking conference in Detroit; the second is a now defunct music industry convention in Cleveland. Haven't found a gaming convention named that yet . . . I'll keep looking.

(been there, did that) Try local features, do you have a town mascot or figure that you could twist a name out of, or the name of your local game store, maybe they'd help sponsor if they got added to the name, or pick a theme that works for you to use in all your artwork and such and pull from that. I liked SpartaCon personally. There is one up in MI that may be bothered by sharing a name, but I thought it was nifty. cher

marmar63
Well, if it's private, just have your own last name. I hosted Spierscon 04 last April. As a side note, our DM ran us through the 3rd ed. campaign set in Ravenloft. We lost....badly. All of the characters left alive skulked off, after being allowed to leave after Strahd got the girl. We're kicking around ideas for the Spierscon 05 T-shirts, and one of the ideas includes a picture of Strahd, flipping the bird to the viewer, with the caption "I'M STILL HERE".... the other is, "I went to Ravenloft and all I got were these stupid fangs". Spike
Teehee.. you COULD exploit the latest trend in advertising to rope in and take advantage of the spending power of the young-adults market by calling it "X-Con" ... ;) .. mind you there'd likely be ALOT of people with past prison records attending..but if they're nice and spend money eh?
