Everything needs more cowbell. Both played and listened to at all major sporting events.

Has August been dreadful, abhorrent, and-or oppressively hot for you? If yes, How bad? If not, congrats! (Southern Hemisphere respondents: for you the snickering lamp is ON.)

Not any worse than july. We had the most perfect day in the mountains fishing yesterday. It may have been 28C in the parking lot, but at the glacial lake, it was probably in the low 20s. I got the best trucker tan on only my left arm. I will say that whatever state my minis had to go though to get to Canada, it was hot enough there to warp the plastic bases.

Every day alternates between 24 and 30 degrees this week, though I can't really tell because I've been running a fever for the last 2 days.

I'd send you a care package, but with the way the post is lately, you'd be either healed or dead by the time it came. You could throw those cookies and shoot at them, they'd be like little clay discs.

It's been in the mid 70's most of the month. The humidity, that is.   We've had normal summer temps in the 90's with one 10-day stretch where it was 100+ and now its back to the 90's as we wind down to September.  Our expected cold front came through last night and it dropped into the 60's, some years it has gotten down to 50 when that mid-Aug front hits.  It's warm this evening but should be nice enough for a walk.

I have no musical ability. I love Spanish Guiter.

The first week of the month was still rough, but the last couple of days have been only in the low 90s.

Been a typical Mid Hudson valley summer, occasionally hot and humid with T-storms, sometimes cool and rainy...

Milder than most this year, I think.

Doubt we have hit 100F more than twice...

And we'll be snickering at the Southren hemisphere folks soon enough whilst we freeze our tails...

It has been on the warm side, though this week it has cooled down a bit.

Since we both live in the same area, you know my answer is going to be an emphatic YES.

This year is going to land somewhere in the top 10 but it needs to try harder to best 1980. Here’s hoping it does not.

Which do you pick, and why?

I'm not re-living the past 50 years all over again. I'll take the 10 mil in euros deposited to my Swiss bank account, thank you.

Most of the worst hardships I went through were from other people's mistakes. I chose to help them and try to fix it. My regrets are small and offset by believing I made the right choices at the time. So money please. At least I hope that mil is some form of money. Cash is always helpful.
