So instead of Contrast and Speedpaints, I tried a drop of ink and craft paint and this is what happened.

Results look promising.

* White-primed miniature lightly pre-inked in a dark shade.

* 1 drop acrylic ink in a small pot of paint (eg. children's craft paint). Do not mix.

* Dip the brush in the ink. As you paint, you can dip into the paint to make the layer more opaque.

I got these Privateer Press metal miniatures (great detail but lots of detail) and have 20 of them on the desk. A lot of work, when I only need five for another game. Anyway, painting the faces only took a few seconds each, when, compared to conventional painting, the faces would take *much* longer. I'm sure you could do further highlighting, but I don't have time to do that.
