Popular Post sgmustadio
This was my first attempt at a translucent mini. I took the advice of many of the folks here to stick to inks and contrast paints for the mini. I found that the contrast paints worked the best to "shade" parts of the mini without too much pooling (which the inks did). Base was done with basic acrylic paints. Any feedback or tips on improving painting transparent or translucent minis is welcome!
KruleBear
Looks good to me and the opacity of the base isa good call.
Moderator Chaoswolf Posted August 24, 2022 Moderator Share Posted August 24, 2022 I haven't tried any of mine yet, so I can't offer any advice, but I do think that you did very well.
Grand Slam
I don't have any advice, other than "keep doing this!" It's a great-looking piece. The mini looks like it's hot, so you totally nailed it. I love the eyes, too.
Dr Boom
Yep. I think you've got it there. I really like the gradient on the wings and the glow at its feet really creates the impression of heat. Well done!
