QUESTION Sept. 9th.

Suppose any tree or plant/bush would grow in your garden( or suppose you have a garden!) despite the weather type and you would have the room/money for it.

Pick the 10 trees/plants/bushes you would like to have in your garden that bear fruits/nuts/veggies!

No, I'm good. *happily looks upon his orchard of money trees*

WEEKEND QUESTION Sept. 10th/11th,

Fall is upon us!

Changing of the Seasons means changes in Nature.

Can you already see signs of Fall?

Take Pics?

Yes, the wasps are less active, and more focused on finding food...  And oh boy are the magpies fat nowadays, almost like they're worried a potent winter is coming...

I'd say the main road construction projects look like they're winding down but frustratingly there's still a giant hole for several blocks in front of my place.  They did say another month and a half, but still, I'm going to miss the silence when traffic returns.

Oh yeah, squirrels just look at you funny, you don't get chittered at, that's gotta be a sign of fall too...

Yesterday we took a bike ride.  The path had a lot of fallen leaves.  It is hard to take a retroactive picture.

No, it is still too early.  Sunday will be our first cool day, but then the next ten days is the same weather we've had for the last month.

No, I can't. I think (at least in the part I'm in) fall in Texas is only about a week long.

Mrs. Strawhat is the gardening one, and we do have a small garden.  This year I believe she attempted tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno pepper, spaghetti squash, some sort of leaf lettuce, and carrots.  We didn't see great results, but there are still a few weeks left of the season to get the last batch of tomatoes.  Most of the rest were a bust or unimpressive returns.

But I wouldn't mind if we could somehow add celery and onions.  For fruit I like apples, pears, and grapes.

That sounds like a lot of work to me, though.

The trees are still green.  The grass is still growing (slowly, as drought is expanding through the area).  But the temps are finally starting to back off at night.  I'm not sure what the apple harvest will be like this year (there's a big festival coming up in a nearby city).

The most obvious sign of fall is the return of flags supporting the college football team.

Yes, the hills are brown and one coulee next to town has trees already changing colour. Not sure what type of trees they are but they're always the first to lose their leaves in fall and last to get them in spring. Also the temperature went from 30+ C that it's been for over 2 months to high teens/ low 20s over night. Feels like autumn now. It was supposed to get down to almost freezing last night so I picked everything in our pathetic garden that was above ground. Forecast is for low 20s for the near future which is normal here.

Harvest is in full swing (42% complete as of this moment), and we had our first frost warning last night, though summer is fighting to stick around.

It dropped 40 degrees and rained.    It was 98 on Thursday.   It is supposed to go back up 80s for next week, but it still seems like a change in season.

So far, the only signs of fall I'm noting is the telltale murk and scent of woodsmoke... which tells me that somewhere, there is a state (or province) on fire.

My asthma is less than amused. 😕
