About the same as always. I like to browse the forums when I have nothing else going on but lately I haven't been very active.

No special plans but I really want to get some fence repaired and built. Seeing as it's already over 30 C in the morning and the forecast is for hot for the next week I'm not thinking I'll get much done.

I wouldn't mind going to Reapercon but it's way down on my list of travel dreams. Only so much time and money and I just had my vacation for this year.

I'm one of those left behind..

 

1. A lot of the same stuff as usual, cooking/painting etc, also I need to do some repairs around the house.

2. I hope to actually finish a mini and finish said repairs.

3. The Netherlands - USA, can't justify the costs for such a trip and honestly I rather stay at home now.

Just the usual housework that I'm allowed to do. Wrist is still recovering, just got back from physical therapy. Molly is on antibiotics so taking care of her, and mom had a cataract removed this week so making sure she sticks to her recovery protocol.

 

No special plans for today, just work the next two nights. Determined to have pizza at some point this weekend, most likely when I watch the premiere of the Rings of Power on Amazon.

 

Not going for several reasons.

Uh...  Catch up on posts I suppose.  Maybe do this or that, but right now it's mainly just "regain energy after last night's 'fun times'"  I would have greatly preferred to have spent last night working on gunpla, minis, or even rearranging the living room.

 

Guess I'll do the living room rearranging and tidying up this weekend or something, I suppose there is that as a possibility.

 

Why didn't I go?  Not really into cons anymore, it's way over there, and I'd rather put the money towards killing debts, buying minis, or finally getting a vehicle again.  Even so called local conventions I shrug about going to because it doesn't take long for a true cost analysis to jump from the hated argument I get all the time of "it's just $50!" (to get in the door) because there's two of us, we like being able to stay close to the convention (nobody likes walking 15-20 minutes after being on their feet at the end of the day, because the two minutes to your room feels daunting enough when you're eventually talked into shenanigans by friends and stay way too late), and of course there's food and merch costs for the weekend.

 

Right now I'd argue though that given circumstances, if I had the cash and desire to hit up ReaperCon, the biggest thing that would hold me back would be losing two weeks of work afterwards.

• I was going to visit with the family, but it sounds like my brother/sister-in-law got everyone sick with covid this week. So that's not happening

I don't think I will ever get to go to Reapercon. It's in Texas, where it's usually 40C. The plane tickets and hotel room are too expensive. If I go somewhere, I usually go for 10 days to justify the expense of the plane tickets. But there's nothing other than the water park in the area I'm interested in. We have cowboy culture here--lots of it, and I'm not into airplanes. 

 

It's also been hot here all summer, and I am looking forward to lake life with Lillers this weekend.

Wasn't painting, wasn't interested in painting, so no prep work to go, and of course nothing painted...

Vacation starts Saturday, so will be working around the house, running errands, etc

 

Maybe next year, but the Collège gaming group is talking about DragonCon next year, and haven't seen many of those folks in a coon's age...

A.  Obsessively scan the ReaperCon sub-forums

B.  Yes, dinner and a movie with wife plus a volunteer shift at the RR Museum

C.  Financial mostly.  New home needs all the available "surplus" cash until certain things are satisfactorily arranged.

1.  The usual...mostly.  Mrs. Strawhat volunteered to watch her former boss' dog.  So that's really messing with my ability to hobby.

 

2.  Plans for today? No.  Plans for the weekend include the usual football "party" (which is just us, the kids, grandkids, and Pa Strawhat).

 

3.  I have many reasons for not going: Cash being the primary reason, I just had my week out of office a couple weeks ago, I am ill at ease in large groups, this is the busy time of the month for my job, etc.

Did a LOT of painting today, actually got a Reperbucks prize foe a speed paint and met several forum friends. Tomorrow, gonna run some games and Saturday paint , play games, etc.

1. Currently I am just hanging out and browsing the forums.
2. No special plans.
3. One is money/time/etc and two is I just had my wisdom teeth removed a week ago so healing from that.

I will try to catch any livestreams Reaper does. At least see what they are about. That was a bit of a fail Thursday.

Today I finished streaming/binge watching Season One of Picard. I will likely carry-on looking at Season 2. Maybe a couple episodes at a time.
