I do not play D&D but I do play a lot of PC games.

And yes I have used the same character build a lot in games like Skyrim/Oblivion/Daggerfall etc.

Arealia the Rogue has been on many adventures.

Not the same character, but, when applicable, I always tend to play the same character type in computer RPGs, a bad-broccoli warrior woman with no time for other peoples nonsense.

Appropriately enough, Malefactus started life as a non PC in Sanctuary. Years later he became my PC in a Greyhawk. He was a pryomaniac.

QUESTION Sept. 5th.

It's Monday again.

How was your weekend?

Do you look forward to something

It was unexpectedly busy. We're moving my mother in law tomorrow (well, a moving service is moving her because I'll be hiking a pipeline cut all day and my wife is still banged up from a recent accident) so I dropped by her apartment to see if she needed any last minute help packing that her in home aide didn't get to. Turns out she fired her aide, that we pay for, last week claiming she was stealing from her. She then proceeded to overload about a half dozen boxes and say everything was packed. That wasn't even close to being all of her stuff packed. So I got to spend most of my holiday weekend packing up and cleaning an apartment. That woman lives like an animal and I was ready to throw her out on the street and let her try and make it on her own by the end of yesterday. And I found the missing jewelry she claims the aide stole. Am I looking forward to something? Yes, I'm looking forward to the day I no longer have to put up with her nonstop lies and abusive behavior.

Don't really play any video games, so that's a no there. And I'm our group's forever DM (or forever Zod, my group refers to me as Zod), so don't have any PCs to speak of. But if I've got multiple campaigns going on in the same world then I've got no problem using the same NPCs in both. Case in point: I've got a little hacker guy called Bob Dobbs in a Shadowrunish (heavy on the ish) campaign I run. He's the worst. But he's always too valuable to the party to kill. Every campaign I've run in a Shadowrun universe Bob has shown up. In fact, we're getting ready to dive into that campaign again, and when last we saw their characters they had been kidnapped by a sentient, time traveling, dimension shifting, batcrap insane space ship for the second time. And this time around they're going to find out that it's not the multiverse. It's the Bobiverse! Every session they'll be facing off against another version of Bob (they have their Bob stashed in the ship somewhere). They don't know this yet and are going to hate finding out there are multiple Bobs... until they realize they can kill these Bobs with no negative repercussions to their plans. Bad news for them is that no matter how bad their Bob is, he's still the good one. Should be fun!

You cannot play the same character in different games.  Different campaigns, yes.  I do not.  I play very similar characters in different games.  When I design a character, I tend to have a high perception and some healing skill.  I have been nicknamed "Sensor Suite" in some games.

Video Games: No, I don't generally play computer RPGs.

TTRPGs: I have sometimes used the same concept, even names, across games or campaigns.  Every so often there's a concept that I want to transplant and see what happens.  I have a couple characters that have appeared in three different settings.

"OneBoot" has appeared in many different forms over the years (though oddly enough, never in a D&D campaign). I always make her as close to being a kitty and/or rogue as possible.

My CG halfling rogue, Etune', has appeared in multiple TTRPG games though, and cheerfully causes mischief every time lol.

Huzzah!

In general, no. I have recycled names, though.

I do have one character that I used multiple times recently, however. He's a slightly different take on your standard wizard, and I keep re-using him because the campaigns always end prematurely. I want to actually play him through to retirement (or his death, if that's how the dice roll).

Never a player character for a pen and paper RPG. I've played descendants of characters (Rignak, son of Grignak who was my brother's character, who in turn played Maargh, son of Muurgh), but that about it.

For PC games I have imported characters to run the entire Baldur's Gate story many times and my run-through of Geralt from the Witcher 2 into the Witcher 3.

In video games, I always have the same name when possible. In TTRPGs, I prefer all of my characters to be different since it makes them all unique personalities.

It's .. unusual for me to play the same character in a tabletop RPG, but some board games and video games have me busting out a single strategy... 'invisible is best, inconspicuous is acceptable'... which means I play a lot of stealth characters in video games..

My halfling thief Ripper started out as a 2nd. Ed. AD&D pregen, and I've restatted him for every edition since then. I've played him in at least four different campaigns after that first game since people keep asking me to bring him back due to his awesome war stories.

In video games, I tend to go the stealthy sniper route and usually build mostly-similar characters according to the game mechanics, although I don't often recycle names from one game to another unless it's within a particular game series such as Elder Scrolls or Neverwinter Nights.

Here we go:

QUESTION SEPT. 1st.

REAPERCON has started.

For those who attend:

What are you looking forward to when you're there?

Anyone you like to meet, specific classes you want to take, games you want to play?

As I attended ReaperCon:

- Meet and Greet (though we arrived late, we made it).

- Hanging around with my Reaper peeps and meeting some new faces.

- Classes: Any class with Derek Schubert is a sure win. I did his "expressive faces" class.

- Games: Any Reaper Wolf game. And I played in his last Sunday game.
