QUESTION SEPT 8Th.

A hobby studio apartment, attached to the main house. Separate rooms for building/painting, video games and in person gaming.

A huge D&D Dungeon Room?

Absolutely!

A Lifesize Succubus?

My wife might have some objections to this.....

A Dragon in your backyard?

....but this would be 100% ok.

Tell us your ultimate hobby dream.

I

This one is simple, I'd really like a group of people to game with.

QUESTION Sept. 5th.

The Con is over.

How was it for you?

Seen great costumes/played a cool game/met nice people?

Tell us about it.

For the ones who didn't go.

It's Monday again.

How was your weekend?

Do you look forward to something

Monday was a holiday, so was good. The weekend was pretty good too.  I made it down to the desk level with cleaning up my painting area.  I Installed some strip tool magnets to try to get a handle on keeping my tools somewhat organized.

Looking forward to the upcoming weekend, since I'm finally making it down to the track for a car round. First time this year, final car round....

QUESTION SEPT. 6th.

Do you use the same character in different games?

This can also apply to PC /video games

Credit to Inarah!

Jasper the 2nd started as a D&D character.  He gets used on forums, discords, etc.

In general I don't use the same character for different games, or even different versions of games.

Although while searching for an avatar pic for my current 5e character (we used to use Astral but had to change due to its demise) I determined that I've used Larry as a a character name at least 3 times over the years......

QUESTION SEPT. 7th.

When attending a Con you acquire stuff like the Ribbons from Reapercon and maybe other stuff like buttons/patches etc etc.

Same goes for any event where you get swag bags/collectibles etc.

What do you do with these when the Con is over?

Credit to TGP.

Based on my current mess, in random bags and boxes and drawers and the like.

My F1 stuff (marshaling swag and tabards and so on) is slightly better organized as it is all stacked on one shelf in my closet.  And the assorted team/driver hats are all on one box (I tend to get hats at F1 events.  F1 merchandising all seems to be sized for 5'6" super skinny people.......).

The usual.  Big ol gaming room with a tables for D&D and at least a couple of minis games.  A massive vault for storage. A 3d printing and etc room.  A nice big painting room with separate assembly, airbrushing, painting and basing areas.  With a regular cleaning staff that knows exactly where everything goes.
And while I don't need a dragon in the backyard, it might be nice to have one in the front yard that was bigger and more awesome than the guy around the corner (he's a landscaper by trade) who has the black one that Home Depot had for sale last year.  I'm thinking maybe a animatronic tiamet, say 10-15 feet tale.  I know a Mandalorian armourer while I'd probably get to build it......

I'm going to go really big and build a theme park. Everyone is always raving about how awesome the Star Wars land at Disney is. I'm not into Star Wars or Harry Potter, but something like that would be really cool. Maybe an Ancient World themed one, with monsters and stuff. I loved interacting with the guy at the Boston Tea Party museum, he was so in character, but really knowledgable. Of course, there would be conventions at my park and stores to buy minis and paints.

All of the non-usable/memento stuff from cons goes in a box in my hobby area at the end of the convention. Then, after the next convention is over and I pull the box back out, I'll usually take a little trip down memory lane going through all the stuff in there. Current box is getting kind of full, may need a new one before too long.

A 3 BBL electric brewhouse from SS Brewtech with all of the associated chillers, brite tanks, fermentation chambers and lagering tanks. And since 3 BBL translates to 93 gallons of beer, which is just a bit more than I can drink on my own, I'm going to need a little pub area to share it with friends and a great sound system for when I'm brewing and sharing. Now I don't want to annoy my neighbors with brewing smells and loud music, so I'm going to need a well lit and ventilated space away from people. A building near the beach ought to do the trick. And since I'm going to need to have a place to crash for friends who imbibe too much I'm going to need several bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate people and probably a kitchen for when we get hungry. But we're also going to need something to do while drinking all that beer so might as well build a game room (with space for painting and crafting) to go along with everything else. So basically a large house on an isolated beach somewhere with attached brewery, pub and gaming spaces. That ought to satisfy my hobbying needs.

Like @Chaoswolf said, a separate hobby/workshop area with several rooms attached to the house, with soundproofed walls and ...

- A large gaming room/display area

- A full painting area with spray booth and ventilation

- A variety of 3D printers

- A workshop area for woodworking and other projects

- An attached forge for blacksmithing work

It'd be a multi-floor sort of thing, obviously with the forge and workshop on the ground level and the rest above it...

There's also a local guy who used to build almost-life-sized dinosaurs in his yard out of metal frames and papier-mache (you can still see a couple of them when you drive by his house), and I'd have him build me at least one dragon out in my back yard, as well as a few other monsters, like maybe a couple of giants, a minotaur or a behir...

I'd also buy one of those ultra-realistic life-sized dolls, mount some Victoria's Secret angel wings on her back, and dress it up in the cheap plastic armor they sell at toy stores, with a helmet, breastplate, bracers and greaves, and put a plastic sword in her hand. And I'd have her standing guard just inside the entrance of my house just to bug people out, lol. ::P:

A larger house with a dedicated painting/gaming room. And, more importantly, room for more books and more bookcases. (And boxes of unpainted minis...)

A compound on a multi-acre home, with multiple buildings connected by hallways/tunnels. Each building will serve as one of the planes in the cosmos, the Prime/Material Plane, Fire/Water/etc. Each decorated to resemble it's namesake, and filled with miniatures. And I will lord over it all from my elevated throne!

How I am going to fit that many layers of the Abyss into one building is going to be a logistical nightmare.

The dragon in the back yard is tempting. A variant where it's eating my mailbox would probably give the postfolks fits..

What I /really/ wanna do is outfit a full on gaming room... overkill is underrated. 😜

Well, I already created my own demiplane, does that count as hobbying?

A Dragon in your backyard?

Our FLGS in Red Deer has a dragon in the store. He's big, too, probably 5 feet tall. He's on top of the shelves when you walk in the store. He is remote controlled and you can press the button and make him roar and his head move. He used to breathe smoke, but it broke and the smoke came out all the joints instead, so that button is disabled. He originally came from Home Depot as a lawn ornament for Halloween. He was probably $5-700.

No to the succubus...

No to the dragon, the litterbox would be huge...

The room would be large enough to allow my reloading bench, an area with workbench for my hobbying and area for a model railroad and gaming area.

Money would definitely get me what I need most when it comes to my hobbies - free time.  I could get sooooo much more done if I wasn't forced to waste my time going to work each morning.

Well, if money's not an object I'd have a couple rooms.  One set up for actual gaming with a table that could be set up or broken down in case you wanted to game on the floor, (although he was originally talking about something else, I have a friend who often insists that there is more room on the floor).  Decor would be appropriate: a couple swords hanging on the walls, nice stereo, comfy chairs, etc.

The other room would have a 3D printer, or two, a nice desktop computer, painting desk and other hobby storage.  Nothing too fancy, enough to get the job done (and display some minis, too).  And having lots of money means that I could hire sculptors to do all my custom bits!

Lifesize "prop" creatures?  Uhh, no...I would, though, consider hiring a chef/cook and a trainer to get Mrs. Strawhat and I in something resembling "good shape."

Oh, and since money isn't an object I'd buy some friends so both rooms would see regular use.

Dragon in the Backyard?

Probably not as he or she would view the local Wild Horse Population as "snacks".

So The Dragon  {Lionel The Latex Lurker [a full head Halloween Mask]} will have to stay in the house and continue in the role of "supervisor"  AKA Lord of The Hobby Desk.
