Cygnwulf
28 days left, I have successfully painted and then stripped the paint off of my right arm where I sat it down on top of my palette while contemplaiting color theory. 2
haldir
Not much done for Con prep today besides getting some tin snips, so I could cut a very small piece from that KS stainless steel sheet. Entry piece is ready to be magnetized. Just waiting on "Big River" to deliver the magnet (Friday). Either way, I have a pair of tin snips for future projects. Thou the way the handle is design, it's for little people, as I can barely get 2 fingers into one of the holes. (Harbor Freight - 4.99!!) I hope to throw some paint on to the piece. Again nothing spectacular, just enough to be presentable.

Should be here in time for the con.

haldir
Well, sheep..... Got the magnets in yesterday & this afternoon I glued one in to the plinth, & tested the mini. It didn't feel solid, so I slotted anther one & it felt pretty good. I glued the 2nd magnet in & the mini wouldn't stick at all! I was able to pry the 2nd magnet off the plinth, but the first was glued forever, so I just tossed it into the trash. At least I can print anther one, just time lost on a little bit of painting I had on it. Kinda of annoying as the magnet stuck to the stainless & held pretty well (enough for my needs), glued them down & nothing. I guess I've got some thinking to do, while I wait for a new plinth.

Moderator OneBoot Posted August 7 Moderator Share Posted August 7 My husband's classes have finally posted! Look for "Methods for Faster Combat in TTRPGs" on the schedule for Friday and Saturday. It's a gaming class instead of a painting class, so if you game or know anyone who does, check it out! It's intended to be helpful for any game system, but will be most useful for d20-based games like D&D and Pathfinder. I'll also be helping teach, but it's primarily his class. The best part: it's FREE! Also, it's only 1 hour long, so if you find yourself with a blank spot in your schedule Friday 8pm or Saturday 5pm that needs filling, we'd love to see you there. Spread the word! Huzzah! --OneBoot 😄
haldir
Meet the ReaperCon 2023 Iconic minis. (This year's faction minis). How to recruit these party members? The Halfling with those mutton loves a good tavern, and best place to a find a tavern at ReaperCon 2023 will be the convention box sold at the Reaper Booth. The Half-Orc rogue will be doing reconnaissance of the vendor room. Follow her around and get your punch card filled out. The Barbarian wants to swing his axe all 4 days of the con. So, he will be in the 4 day pass bag. And the adorable bard wants everyone to hear her song. She will be the September promo of the month. Posted on Discord by Tasine. Love the rabbit! 4
Adrift
Definitely gives me more of a hare vibe than a rabbit. Do we know what else will be sold in the convention box? Paint colors?
haldir
Rabbit, hare, either way, I really like the vibe of that mini, the bard too. About the only one I don't really care for is "Generic'arian". Sorry I've seen this sculpt so many times over. On Discord, they've shown possible Con paint colors & the Ed Memorial mini has been shown (screen grab from Live), but overall not much has been shown. Hopefully sooner than later, since you know the Con is only a few weeks away & it would be nice to know what things are gonna cost & what's in them. Well after looking at some things, I'm gonna go in a bit of a different direction with my entry. Never fails, I always get the ideas when I really don't have allot of time to execute them. Couple things ordered for new idea, hopefully they'll be here this week. I do need to try & either grind out, using a dremel, that piece of metal or hopefully my FLHS, has some debonder in stock. If not I don't think it'll be too much a problem, just I know it's there. No magnets for this idea. Nice idea, but since I don't really deal in magnets with hobbies, kinda new to me.
Corsair
Well, the new printer has been VERY busy since arriving. At any rate I now have all the PCs and NPCs printed out for my RoSD game and 5 of the 7 buildings completed. The last 2 buildings are built from modular sections so they will be easy to transport once painted. One is about half done, with the other not yet started. Thankfully, the painting of the characters is assembly line stuff, not best quality, as if I were doing this for a friend. Still debating between buying the Meet & Greet Dinner or the Con Package.
alchemist
The photo of the iconic minis makes it look like the halfling is reaching for the rabbit with the intention of putting it in a cooking pot. 1
