I booked late last year and am only paying 900 including taxes for 8 days 7 nights. Since unlike Railcon I won't be walking my feet raw and bloody going several miles around museums for three days before the con, I think I'll be able to drive. I didn't want the stress of the scramble for rooms and need the extra days to recover from driving there and then from the con in order to drive home.

Heh, I remember when 80 to 90 dollars per night for a hotel for RCon was high!

Plus,  it was off site so you needed to find or have transportation to get to Reaper each morning.

Well, everyone going in my car down got a room.  Our party with be my wife Sue, my friend Kris, and I again this year.  Neither of my boys will be coming once again as Myles will be in Med school and Gus in college.

Now I just have to find enough time to get my entry painted and to figure out what classes I will be teaching (I'm open to requests).

I looked in my old emails.

My first RCon in 2016, I paid about $110/night (tax+fees inluded) at the old Fairfield Inn. That was for a single bed, offsite, and stuck with the shuttle schedule. I missed a lot of late night events that first year.

This year, it's $150/night, double (maybe triple) occupancy *and* on site. A good deal. It's last year's post-pandemic RCon that was the most expensive at ~$200/night. The other 2 years I was there, it was @pcktlnt or @TripleH that got the reservations and shared their rooms with me.

I can't remember what the first hotel (2005) the Super 8 was (btw, you can see it, as your heading into the hotel from the airports (S to N), it's right right before you hit the Unv of N Texas), but I wanna say it was around $80 or so. I don't recall the La Quinta days, but the Best Western on Teasley Lane was around $90 per day. Those days I could afford just being by myself & treating myself to the silence whenever I wanted too. These days, it's nicer with a roommate + you get to chat up with someone outside of Con hours.

Oh I hear you on the 2022's hotel price. With my roommate being unable to attend (announced the weekend before Meat & Greet Weds), I was stuck with the entire hotel bill + the uber expensive Lyft ride the Monday going home didn't help either. Thou, I will admit I had the cash to burn last year & I knew going into the Con that might get spendy on the room, so I wasn't surprised or anything. Well that Lyft ride was a eye-opener.

Well, took the next step for ReaperCon. I booked my trip down this morning. Now how do I get back home? Oh yah, I better remember to book coming back home. I had enough points in my SW Rewards to get at least one leg of the trip (+6 bucks - something to do with Federal Regulations or something) + I add their Early Bird, so $26 bucks + pts for the flight. I'll be arriving around 1:45 pm on Weds August 30th!!

Now that flight home. I'll do that one later, probably next month next time, as prices were pretty good, like $150+.

Yes Badges will go on sale this friday! -  keep in mind that these are just admission badges.
Class, game, event submission go live at the same time for people to put in those events!
